Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. - AL I:40

Sunday December 16th 2007 – 1:00pm Aisha sent an email. She saw my new FOSK page with all my new 'Bells & Whistles' and writes. “93 Love the new Fosk page. You are keeping busy but it looks like you are having too much fun. I fear you are getting a bit obsessed about Christmas and I think Jerry has finally left the building. Much Love 93s Aisha.”  I replied, 93 Aisha. You may well be correct, the cheese does seem to slip off the cracker around this time of the year but this holiday comes once a year and so I reserve the right to be a brat. Big Smile here! Much love back at ya. Miss you lots. 93 93/93 Jerry.” ...

11:00am I added a lot of new things to my FOSK page [Foundation of Santa Knowledge], from top to bottom. Click HERE and enjoy!

7:00am For my readers, I post this quaint story of Christmas joy:

HOW THE ANGEL GOT ON TOP OF THE TREE

Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip ...
but there were problems happening everywhere. Four of his elves got sick,
and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones and
Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.
Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This
stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were
about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven
knew where. More stress.
Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the boards cracked and
the toy bag fell to the ground, scattering some of the toys.
Frustrated, Santa went back into the house for a cup of coffee and a
shot of whiskey but when he went to the cupboard, he found the elves had
hit the liquor and there was nothing to drink.
In his frustration, he then turned and accidentally dropped the coffee pot
and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor.
Shaking his head in disgust he then went to get the broom only to find
that mice had eaten the straw that it was made from.
Just then the doorbell rang and Santa cussed on his way to the door.
Aggravated, he opened it to find this beautiful little angel with a great big
Christmas tree. She gave him the biggest smile as she asked: "Where would
you like to put this tree Santa?"
And that my friend, is how the little angel came to be on top of the
Christmas tree.

6:45am Check out this new section on my website. It’ll be listed on the contents page as PHOTOS, TELEGRAPH AVENUE MEMORIES. Click HERE to view it. There are only a few photos so far but I’ll be adding more as I take them [with my new digital camera]. So far, besides my son, all those shown are in the AA lineage of Grady Louis McMurtry.

6:39am For the history buffs: The English ‘witch’ James Murrell died on this date in 1860. He was born the seventh son of a seventh son and was known as ‘Cunning Murrell.’ He openly enjoyed a lucrative career as a white magician, healing and casting spells. Murrell often said that he was “the Devil’s Master” while claiming that he had the power to exorcise spirits and overcome witchcraft by counter-spells. Murrell was a secretive man, he traveled only at night, and always carried an umbrella with him regardless of the weather. On December 15, 1860, the day before he died, Murrell accurately predicted the time of his death to the minute. He is buried in an unmarked grave in Hadleigh churchyard. ..... and Arthur C. Clarke was born on this date in Minehead, England in 1917. He wrote Childhood’s End, which went on to become one of most popular and acclaimed science fiction novels of all time. He also wrote the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, based on his own short story The Sentinel. Clarke has published over 75 novels, numerous short stories and essays; along with his literary work; he is credited with coming up with the idea for communications satellites. Since 1956 he has lived in Sri Lanka. ..... also, the fraternal twins Philip Kendred Dick and Jane Kendred Dick were born on this date in Chicago in 1928. As for Phillip, he dropped out of the University of California before getting a degree and began writing. By 1968 he had published almost thirty books and short stories; such as Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, which was made into the classic movie Blade Runner. Another of his short story, We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, became the classic movie Total Recall. Dick was a prolific writer, but for most of his career he lived in utter poverty with ruined health admittedly due to methamphetamines and LSD. Then, on March 22, 1974, Philip K. Dick had a transcendental mystical experience which he described as “an invasion of my mind by a transcendentally rational mind.” This experience caused him to begin recording his thoughts and experiences into a journal, which he referred to as the Exegesis. The Exegesis contained a phenomenal amount of religious thought and philosophy which inevitably formed the basis for his Valis trilogy. Sadly, Philip K. Dick died of heart failure following a stroke on March 2nd, 1982 in Santa Anna, California.

... and finally, on December 16, 1981 the movie Ghost Story opened in theaters. It is about four successful elderly gentlemen, members of the Chowder Society, who share a gruesome fifty-year old secret. When one of Edward Wanderley’s twin sons dies in a bizarre accident, the group begins to see a pattern of frightening events developing of ghostly revenge. Anyway, when Peter Straub’s original novel, Ghost Story, first appeared in hardback it became an instant controversy. Throughout the winter months of 1979/80 there were many discussions circling around the OTO about this book because the Order believed that the author had improperly used the name of the Ordo Templi Orientis. This novel made mention of an evil organization which - “envisioned Satanism, covens; California lunacy at its worst” and when a character asked, “What is the name of the order?” The reply came back, “O.T.O.” This evil Order was also referred to as the “raw material for nightmares.” Amongst the numerous other tainted comments it even mentioned that it had “a minor connection with the Manson family.” When this novel reached Grady McMurtry’s attention it concerned him immensely. The Order was trying to become legitimate and he strongly felt that any reference in a negative light, especially having a tenuous connection to Charles Manson, needed to be addressed. To make a long story short, letters went back and forth between lawyers and Peter Straub decided to settle out of court. Future editions of his book would simply use the name XXX rather than OTO. Straub also sent a check for $20,000 in his letter dated April 10th 1981. The letter briefly stated, “The first edition of my novel Ghost Story made certain references to the Ordo Templi Orientis. These references were factually incorrect. In subsequent editions of the book the name of the organization referred to has been altered. If my error caused any distress to members of the Ordo Templi Orientis, I humbly apologize to them.” It was signed, “Sincerely yours, Peter Straub.”

Saturday December 15th 2007 – 5:15pm I received this gem of an email from Ricardo, a very diligent and fascinating teacher in our lineage. He writes:

Jerry, 93!
I posted the four lines in your blog to my students:

Twas The night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
So I took their stereo.

And I got an interesting response from them.  At first, only a few chuckles
and jokes.  Until this female student wrote:

"Maybe I'm just over-thinking this but it feels like there is more to this than a
funny bit of prose.
Remember when Koyote told us that often esoteric secrets were hidden in
plain sight in nursery rhymes and he had us trying to figure out what
Humpty Dumpty meant?
He did say on Tuesday that he'd be telling us something soon about our
state of affairs.
Could it be that the house is the temple and we are the creatures that are so
asleep that we're not moving.  And could the stereo be the radio that we
have been trying to build and are not paying enough attention to?
Are we in danger of losing it because we're not moving?
What do you zombees think?”
                    --Pilar

Oso replied - “ But I think you are right. That crazy somanabeesh koyote (a
close relative of the maestro) is always hungry, always hunting, criss-
crossing the terrain, sniffing out and pissing on the no good rotten shit that is
lying around (as opposed to the no good rotten shit that tastes really good).”

Bruto: “Hahaha! Nice words brother, and I agree with you, he's up to
something. Pilar, you might be on to something. I never thought about it like
that (by never I mean last night), but it looks like it could easily be what he
said he would say about our state of affairs. He has said many many times
that the teaching is in the jokes. You know, regardless of whether it is or it is
not what he is saying, you are saying it, and it fits somewhat, if not perfect.
Are we not stirring though? We are asleep, maybe. Who am I to say? I'm
way down here, not with the chusma down there. Let's see what the rest
have to say...and what to do, where do we go from there...if your
premonition is correct, and he will take our stereo, then are we just going to
let that happen? How do we at least get some more stirring going on, giving
us a better chance at waking up when he comes around, o que?

David: “ A stereo is a tunable receiver only, but not a transmitter. It's what
we receive various frequencies of vibrations from afar with. The power of
the signal we receive is dependent on the strength of the transmitter. What
station (frequency) we're tuned to determines what you get from it.”

And finally, Christine: “ Yes, this is true the radio is only a receiver.
However, if the part to the receiver are not working properly or put together
wrong then the frequencies are not received properly. To fine tune the radio
is to have frequencies received in the way they are put out. Not clouded,
convoluted or mis-interpreted. The more we work on the human biological
machine the better the chance is to receive the frequencies as they were
meant to be received. “

Peace, hermano.

5:00pm Rey DeLupos of The Queen of Heaven Clerk House in Sante Fe writes, “Greetings Luis & Dave, Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Wow! What a news flash from the 'Bloggleria!" Jerry sure can announce them! I wanted to wish you and Dave a wonderful 'Hierogamos'. May the blessing of union and growth as a unified soul be yours. I am happy you have found a soul in which to share this life --- crazy as it is -- with.  :) Mangalam! Love is the law, love under will. In the Bonds of matrimony and wearing a white dress [matron of honor], Rey.”

10:50am I thought that I should mention that my dear friend Dave wrote to me yesterday to inform me that he and the author Luis Alvarado [of The Double-Wanded One Clerk House] are off to Sebastopol today to become the newlyweds [aka Domestic Partners] ... They will sign on the dotted line at 2:52 PM and then Dave also wrote that they'll "Eat and Drink to all hours of the night---pass out and get up to a 90 minute massage Sunday morning and then head to the Coast for the day. Nice weekend. Who would ever thought I would hear wedding bells with Luis?” ... He then adds “Oh, by the way, I'm not wearing a white dress! No Way!” ... hummm, I can picture Luis in a dress but white? Anyway, I wish you guys lots of congratulations, big hugs and only the best possible future. You are my two favorite Taurians, both great guys and deserving nothing less than happiness!  ...  I want pictures!

10:15am I’ve gotten three emails from guys wanting to get in on our sexual discourse in today’s blog while trying to be funny and lighthearted but each of you guys miss the point and I fear your comments will only fuel the woman’s angst against chauvinistic pigs. I can’t publish what you guys wrote; even I find some of it offensive. There is a fine line drawn in the sand between eroticism, honest and humorous talk and that of gutter wallowing ... which has its place ... but since this is my blog and although I strongly adhere to Liber OZ which states that we all have the right to ‘write as ye will’, I will thank you guys for your thoughts, smile while simply not posting them. I guess the bottom line is that admittedly when corresponding with people I often take snippets of our emails and publish them on-line, or parts which I find amusing and which I think might benefit my readers and inspire thought. But it seems that in doing this I've unleashed a dilemma in some of my readers. For instance; had you guys fully read the correspondence between me and Carol you’d realize that it evolved over weeks and months. You’d also see that initially we were not so open or honest about sex, our bodies and our relationships and this took time to develop while talking about magick from Malkuthian point-of-view in regards to laying a proper foundation for the Temple; which is after all the human body. Remember, if you do not have respect for things on even the lowest plane then you’re building a Temple on a faulty foundation. ... Anyway, have you guys ever been to a party and overheard part of a conversation between two cute women and butted in thinking you were adding in something cool only to realize that you're not on the same page as they are? Maybe the drink in your face made you realize that? ... I guess what I’m trying to say is that when you guys read snippets on-line you must learn to curb your tongues and carefully contemplate on what I’ve added onto my blog before babbling out thoughts like dirty little school children. Just last night during our weekly gathering here at my apartment we were talking about this and similar problems. Men love hearing about sex magick, as long as we’re talking about women but it is often more difficult for men to talk about sex magick in regards to a man. When asked, “Why do you guys think this is so?” All I got back were brief nervous blurbs followed by uncomfortable laughter and homophobic snippets. When it all died down I calmly said, “Well, let’s try.” I then turned to a friend sitting across the room and said, “Lets talk about YOUR penis.” Well, when eyes stopped bulging out in shock throughout the crowd and when the laughter and giggling died down I pointed out how distressing all the men had become when the topic turned to their own anatomy; especially in front of a woman! This is the problem. Men have always felt that they were exempt from this process or above it but both sexes need to fully understand their own fleshy tomb in which their spirit chose for their incarnation in order to gain experience. As long as men have a problem taking about their own anatomy they’ll always be dirty little school children!

8:35pm Yes, Carol, I do find your idea irresistible but proclaiming a specific day as a mandatory ‘day of reckoning’ where all women must come clean and put up or shut up in their quest to learn sex magick due to the “impending vagiapocalypse” [what?] and describe their “genitalia intimately to you" [i.e.me] will only make me lose a lot of friends ... although admittedly, I like the idea! ..... Still, I think we’re reaching a new low here. You and I joke about our anatomy all the time and we keep such in its proper place. We both know, due to distance and circumstance, that a relationship of any kind will never evolve between us but some of the readers of my blog do not. They read our ramblings and see only proof to what I am saying about men and sex magick to be true! Men are dogs, my self included. The reason I know this to be true is because I admit it! Still, anyone who knows me personally, seen my art or heard my rants knows that talking openly, honestly and humorously about sex and relationships is a mandatory foundation stone in understanding and learning about ourselves and the incarnation that we’ve chosen. Too many people, however, have serious sexual hang-ups and they simply cannot discuss these topics. They’ll read what we joke about and fall back on rigid childhood moralistic lessons as a crutch wherein humor has no place. Crowley said it best when he wrote, “The chief ‘advance in morals’ in the last generation is that people keep on being dirty little boys & girls instead of growing up.” This is very true ... now what do you mean you shaped it like a wolf? I always thought that my mind was my greatest pleasure organ but your description has me babbling, “I am Perplexed!”

8:12am Although not requested, thank you Carol for graphically describing your Yesodian foundation to me as “proof” of your “seriousness.” You had me in stitches, if not more curious than before? If all the women who write me only had such a twisted sense of humor as yours I think that I would be ‘inspired’ to write more often. Too bad you live so many states away but I fear it is for the best [big smile here].

8:10am Hey Mr. ‘please keep my name anonymous’, what do you mean my Christmas jokes seem out of place amongst my serious magickal discourses? Let me remind you of one of my favorite Aleister Crowley quotes: “ The Common defect of all mystical systems previous to that of the Aeon whose Law is Thelema is that there was no place for Laughter.” [Little Essays Toward Truth]. ... And besides, I blame my sick sense of humor on the fact that I’m a Cancer, Pisces Rising with a Scorpio Moon! The Gods make me do it!

8:00am Yes, Carol, I agree, the unconscious fear with women in Crowleyanity today, especially when discussing sex magick, is often rooted in years of abuse with this topic within Ordo Templi Orientis. Most women aren’t stupid and they unconsciously know that the OTO is a phallic-based philosophy but they are usually in denial of such on one level or another; hoping that perhaps there are women's Mysteries to be taught somewhere in this fraternity! [& the men chuckle. Men are dogs.] They also ignore the fact that men’s libidos are without doubt easily aroused by imagination. I’ve seen it time and time again in the OTO; when men begin talking to a woman about sex magick or the female anatomy too intimately they start getting ‘inspired’, then their mind grows wings, it flies away with a big smile leaving the lesser head in charge to take over and the sacred art becomes degraded as a means to get laid. Remember; this fraternity coined the old phrase, “Hey little girl, wanna be a High Priestess?” as a joke back in the 1940s implying the Gnostic Mass was seen as a means for men to get laid. Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with sex between consenting adults but I personally think honesty is most important and that one should not magickally cross the planes, its bad karma. If you want to explore Malkuth explore Malkuth and if you want to explore Yesod ... well, leave Malkuth alone.

7:35am To Carol I wrote, “I enjoy a good erotic magickal correspondence; to be able to talk freely about sex, my anatomy, women’s anatomy and all related subjects without fear or prejudices. Yesterday I asked a woman if her privates were furry, slightly hairy, delicately trimmed or clean shaven and she got very indignant and sent a rather harsh reply. Maybe I was too forward? I thought since we were talking about sex magick intimately over the last few weeks then perhaps she would have no problem with such a question; silly me. I guess she forgot the old adage: “If one cannot face the weeds in their backyard then perhaps the Tree does not cry out to be climbed?” More important; she obviously missed my earlier discourse on the fact that sex magick, like every Magickal Art, must first have its Malkuthian foundation understood and explored and simple questions; like the one I asked, are meant to uncover if a person is really comfortable enough in their own skin to be able to talk about sex magick freely. I needed to know if I was wasting my time; obviously, I was. Anyway, the problem that I’m always faced with is admitting that above all else, I’m a magician. I believe strongly in the magickal quest for my True Will, which is the reason behind my incarnation. In other words, I picked my particular body as a vehicle in which to gain my experiences. I am not going to be uncomfortable with my skin as to deny it by disregarding the magickal axiom ‘Know Thyself’ which begins first with the outer flesh. Now don’t get me wrong, my quest is not from a narcissistic point-of-view but simply admitting that I, like everyone both male and female, explores their own anatomy. I also quest after the reasoning behind my libido and the psyche which is fueling my sexuality. There is nothing wrong with this, I have little shame or morals. I adhere to the idea that only when you are comfortable with knowing your own body should you seek an opposite in another. I also believe that if talking about your anatomy either embarrasses or annoys you then perhaps sex magick is the wrong subject to pursue?”

7:30am Twas The night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Everyone way feeling Merry,
So she left ...

6:50am Lee Sheehy, a student up in the cold frigid area of Pennsylvania sent a gem of an article that he found on the internet for the Holidays. Its published on a Christian website of The Landover Baptist Church and it is titled The Devil Is In Your Chimney! Is Santa Claus, Satan? It's added onto our 'FOSK' page at the bottom; read and enjoy!

6:45am For the history buff: Somerset Maugham died on this date in 1965.  In 1906, while in England, he wrote the novel titled The Magician but it would not be released until November of 1908. One of the main characters in this book was based on Aleister Crowley even though Maugham shared only a brief acquaintance with him. Maugham later wrote, “I do not remember how I came to think that Aleister Crowley might serve as the model for the character whom I called Oliver Haddo; nor, indeed, how I came to think of writing that particular novel at all ... though Aleister Crowley served, as I have said, as the model for Oliver Haddo, it is by no means a portrait of him. I made my character more striking in appearance, more sinister and more ruthless than Crowley ever was. I gave him magical powers that Crowley, though he claimed them, certainly never possessed.” Aleister Crowley bought the book in late November of 1908 when it first hit the stores. He wrote, “The title attracted me strongly, The Magician. The author, bless my soul!  No other than my old and valued friend, William Somerset Maugham, my nice young doctor whom I remembered so well from the dear old days of the Chat Blanc ... Yes, I did myself proud, for the Magician, Oliver Haddo, was Aleister Crowley; his house ‘Skene’ was Boleskine. The hero’s witty remarks were, many of them, my own.  He had, like Arnold Bennett, not spared his shirt cuff.”

Friday December 14th 2007 – 8:05am     Twas The night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring,
So I took their stereo.

7:50am And a dear friend, after viewing my Santa photos amongst other things, writes: "All I can say to all of the Christian blasphemies is Amen! Keep 'em coming! I despise this xmas crap. But, I absolutely LOVE the upside down Santa. Can I get a "praise Jesus!" Something tells me that Jesus doesn't give a rats ass if we get that new IPhone for Christmas, but perhaps Satan/Santa does! When has this bullshit, borrowed holiday really been about love, giving or Jesus for that matter, anyway? How many families actually talk about Christ on Christmas? It's just another excuse for the materialistic consumerist feeding frenzy ... just ask any old lady running you over with her shopping cart to get that last Playstation 3 on the shelf--'cause that what really sounds like "holiday cheer." A friend of mine once said: "Christian's do Satan's work best," and it sure is the truth. Hypocrisy and bullshit are what they are serving this and every season...I can see the headline now-only one more spot left, reserve your space in heaven, and buy now!!! Do you have another barf bag?" ..... Answer: Yes, I carry plenty around this time of the year! And you get a hearty "AMEN sister" from me!

7:30am For the history heap: Nostradamus, the French physician and astrologer who dabbled in prophecy, was born on this date in St. Remy, France in 1503. His volume called the Centuries is a set of vague and often cataclysmic predictions set in quatrains. ..... and the only other thing to report happening on this date occurred in 1995 near Naguabo, on the east coast of Puerto Rico, where several caged rabbits were “found dead with holes in the neck area, without a drop of blood.” Other rabbits had disappeared and near the rabbit cages were tracks with a three-toed claw, attributed to the Chupacabra, or “Goat sucker.”

Thursday December 13th 2007 – 6:00pm BANG! BANG! BANG! & a few more BANGS! It’s Christmas Time and the Holiday Season is upon us! Have my readers heard yet that Matthew J. Murray, the shooter in the two recent incidents at Christian religious organizations in Colorado which left five people dead, himself included, was a Minerval initiate of Ad Astra Oasis, OTO? He was armed with an assault rifle, two handguns and 1000 rounds of ammunition! Anyway, the head of the Denver OTO Steve Mariner stated that “Murray attended group meetings for about a year before being asked to leave in September.” Also noting, "He was a mostly quiet, geeky young man" ... "He was a skinny little kid. He was your typical I-like-college-over-cars type. He was a voracious reader, as far as I could tell. I never heard him raise his voice." Mariner told the News that he was shocked when he learned Murray was the shooter.  "You are sitting there having a conversation with someone," Mariner said. "We all have our little personality quirks, but you don't appraise them of being someone who would go off and do something this atrocious." ... Anyway, Murry would often sign off on his webpage [MySpace] as "Mister Crowley.” He used the screen name ‘Chrstnnghtmr’ for Christian Nightmare and on his site he listed Aleister Crowley as amongst his heros!

6:50am Mike, a lot of people have read my book on Aleister Crowley & The Ouija Board which details one of the proper methods of communication with elementals through the board. Still, unless you are one of my close students, few make the leap after reading my HGA series in CORNELIA which details the lower HGA, or daimon which is elemental in nature to asking if it is connected with the same entity that you communicate with through the board. Regardless from which one you are approaching the subject, in my book I clearly point out the dangers in summoning elementals but I tried to be evasive in my Ouija book due to the audience it was reaching. Anyone who knows this old Crab (Cancer) will attest that I can dance and move sideways when I want to with ease. Anyway, a secret lies in the fact that the elemental, besides being a very obsessive creature desiring to attach itself to a mortal, it becomes lost if the host dies. The Gods had given it to us as a gift but once we die, the elemental does not travel into the spirit world, it remains on Earth and ironically, it’s been programmed by its host to do one thing and because of such, it continues its mission in quest of a 'similar' mortal in which it can function. Crowley wrote that these “hollow shells glow with infernal fire. Also, of course, they soak up vitality from the sitters, and from the medium herself.” I added that this warning must be heeded very carefully if one wishes to communicate with a lower elemental on a continual basis. Most voodoo practitioners will tell you that the lower gods feed and if not given something on the altar they’ll use your own psyche. In all cases of inner quests, possession and obsession are grave dangers said by some to be the foundation stone of schizophrenia wherein a person is moved to inertia as their psyche is slowly being fried; inevitably accomplishing little outside their security point in the real world while holding fast to the dream world’s calling. The magician must be forewarned; whether communing with your own lower elemental or others, too much 'day dreaming' can be a dangerous thing if you are not utilizing what you see in the real world! Remember; the daimon is here to help you, not the other way around! Have you ever read Colin Wilson’s book The Mind Parasite? I don’t know why it just came to mind, it’s only a sci-fi novel and sort of unrelated but you might find it an amusing read.

6:35am For the history buffs: Mary Butts was born on this date in 1890, she grew up in her family’s home at Salterns on the coast of Dorset, England. She was the great granddaughter of Thomas Butts, patron and friend of William Blake. After a complicated childhood, she married the poet and publisher John Rodker, had a daughter, and then left him and the child for Cecil Maitland. Maitland deepened her involvement with drugs, introduced her to the black magic of Aleister Crowley and together they both briefly spent time at Aleister Crowley’s Abbey of Thelema. However, they later broke up and she later married Gabriel Aiken, an alcoholic and a homosexual who also eventually left her. In the 1920s, while living between London and France, she partied excessively and lived a very wild life which shocked most of the people who knew her. She wrote six novels, three volumes of short stories, poetry, two pamphlet-length essays, and numerous reviews. Her most notable works are Ashe of Rings (1925), Armed with Madness (1928), Imaginary Letters (1928), The Death of Felicity Taverner (1932), The Macedonian (1933) and Scenes from the Life of Cleopatra (1935). She died at the age of forty-six at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance on Match 8th 1937. ..... and on December 13, 1973 a French man named Claude Vorilhon claims that he was in a volcano near Clermont-Ferrand, France, when he saw a UFO.  He says a radiant small human-shaped being with pale green skin and almond eyes emerged from the ship and took him aboard where he traveled to a distant planet of the Elohim. Here he was introduced to Jesus, Buddha, Confucius and even Joseph Smith, who told him that he was “the final prophet” and they entrusted him with a message that revealed the true origin of mankind. The human race was created from the DNA of ‘aliens’ some 25,000 years ago and that the Earth was ‘created’ as an alien laboratory. Among other things, Claude Vorilhon learned that cloning is the way to immortality and there is no God or soul. According to him, our alien creators want us to be beautiful and sexy and to enjoy a sensuous life, free from the restrictions of traditional Judeo-Christian morality. They also told Claude Vorilhon that henceforth he would be known as Raël, which means “messenger.” His followers are called Raëlians. ...... and finally, on December 13, 1974 John G. Bennett, while taking his daily walk through the grounds of Sherborne House, died at the age of 77. He had met Gurdjieff in 1921 while traveling in Turkey and he would later carry on where he left off. He is also the man responsible for letting the world know that Gurdjieff’s book Meeting With Remarkable Men was only an ‘allegory’ with little truth therein. Of the many books he wrote, most will remember Ennegram Studies, The Way To Be Free, The Dramatic Universe: Man and His Nature and volume two of this book called The Foundations of Moral Philosophy.

Wednesday December 12th 2007 – 5:40am Sorry Mike for not responding sooner but I’m swamped with work of late with little or no assistance. Everyone is finishing up the semesters and running home for the holidays. Anyway, as you know Jung gave us a detailed picture of this daimon who he called Philemon. Jung informs us that it had contacted him when he was just three years old and that it began preparing him for his later inner journey. Philemon was one of his teachers who guided and tutored him throughout his life. Jung clearly says that it possessed him. Also consider this quote from Jung’s Memories, Dreams, Reflections ... “Philemon and other figures of my fantasies brought home to me the crucial insight that there are things in the psyche which I do not produce, but which produce themselves and have their own life. Philemon represented a force which was not myself. In my fantasies I held conversations with him, and he said things which I had not consciously thought. For I observed clearly that it was he who spoke, not I.”  Jung also adds “At times he seemed to me quite real, as if he were a living personality. I went walking up and down the garden with him, and to me he was what the Indians call a guru.”

5:25am “I know nothing about sex because I was always married.” - Zsa Zsa Gabor

5:00am For the history buffs and there is a lot to report: It was on this date in 1531 that the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego at the site of a former temple to the Aztec goddess Tonantzin. The story begins in 1523, or just two years after the Aztec capital of Tenochitlan had fallen to Hernán Cortés and his Conquistadors. This is when the first Roman Catholic missionaries arrived to begin the religious conquest of Mexico. Fra. Bernadino de Sahagún and his fellow Franciscan brothers immediately immersed themselves in the intensive study of indigenous tongues along with the history, customs and religious practices of the Mexicans, whom they called Aztecs. Soon fluent in their language, the Franciscan proceeded to translate Christian religious texts into Aztec in order to teach the Christian doctrines. Among their first converts was a man baptized with the Christian name Juan Diego and shortly afterwards, as he was crossing the barren hill called Tepeyac to attend Mass. He was brought to a sudden halt by a blinding light and the sound of unearthly music. According to the legends, before him appeared an astounding vision; a beautiful dark-skinned woman who called the Indian “my son” and then declared, “I am the Entirely and Ever Virgin, Saint Mary.”  In other words, she was the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. She told Juan Diego it was her desire to have a church built in her honor on Tepeyac hill, and asked him to relay that message to Bishop Juan de Zumarraga. Later, by order of the Bishop, a small church was constructed on the site designated by the Virgin. ...... also, December 12, 1791 Jean Baptiste Alliette, more commonly known as Etteilla, died in France at the age of 53. Some claim that Etteilla is the man directly responsible for making the Tarot and the Qabalah household words. He adopted the reverse spelling of his real name, Alliette, because it sounded more ‘mysterious.’ However, others have claimed the change was because his past was less than favorable and he didn’t want old ‘dirt to resurface’ which would have jeapordize him earning a living from astrology, Tarot and other occult sciences. In 1788 Etteilla published the first Tarot Deck designed specifically for esoteric reasons, which was made up of 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. He also founded the Society of Interpreters of the book of Thoth in 1788, which was the very first organization known to be devoted exclusively to the study of Tarot. Etteilla’s legacy is a mixed one, many of the symbols he used between Tarot, astrology and elements on the cards have become unpopular in occult teachings and have been abandoned. Still, Etteilla was the first person to publish a book with a grammar and methodology for Tarot, titled Tarot Book of Thoth which sparked the popularization and the further study of the Tarot by other occultists. In the end, whether you agree with his teachings or not, he was still truly a pioneer in occult teachings and practices. ...... and to continue, on December 12, 1882 Benjamin P. Williams was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He later changed his name to Elbert Benjamine and then changed it again to C.C. Zain. Under this name he began publishing such books as The Sacred Tarot. His quest of the occult began in his youth when, at the age of 18, he found his way to The Brotherhood of Light where he studied a wide range of spiritual topics before becoming one of the organization’s leaders. In 1915 he moved to Los Angeles and began teaching a variety of subjects; ultimately incorporating such into the organization that he founded called The Church of Light. He was one of the foremost astrologers of his time. He died in his late sixties on July 2, 1951.  ...... and there is more. On December 12, 1937 Aleister Crowley did a ritual at Cleopatra’s Needle. The Daily Express of Thursday December 23, 1937 ran an article; “These Names Make News, Mixed Bag of Early Birds” by William Hickey, which is merely an alias used by the noted author Thomas Driberg. The article began; “An Englishman, a Jew, an Indian, a Negro, a Malayan - no, it’s not one of those saloon-bar jokes.” The article is about Crowley assembling a ‘mixed bag’ of people before Cleopatra’s Needle to announce the publication of his book, The Equinox of the Gods. ...... also, Brian Lumley, the writer of horror fiction stories, was born on this date in Durham County, England in 1937. He added immensely to H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos saga by writing stories based on mutual themes, most notable being Titus Crow. In fact, he was so drawn to Lovecraft’s work that he gleefully incorporated his gods and iconography into almost all his own stories. ..... and there is lots more to report but I think I'll end it here!

Tuesday December 11th 2007 – 7:30am For the history buffs: Sir Francis Dashwood, having been in ill health for some time, died on this date in 1781. He was buried beside his wife and parents in the family vault in St Lawrence’s church. His life has come down through the ages shrouded in controversy; bathed in half-truths and even more legends, making it now difficult to distinguish fact from fiction.  He was an unashamed libertine, a gallant who reveled in every type of indulgence possible while dedicating his life to the worship of the old gods personified in Bacchus and Ariadne. He was the founder of the infamous Hell Fire Club which met at night in his abbey for orgies, while mocking both the Christian church and the Devil. Their meetings were a celebration of life and all its indulgences, which they lived as the motto of the abbey dictated: “Do What You Will.” Sir Francis maintained this dictum right up to the end and never lost sight of his zest for life.

Monday December 10th 2007 – 5:45pm John, consider this quote from Aleister Crowley's Little Eassays Toward Truth - "Chastity may thus be defined as the strict observance of the Magical Oath; that is, in the Light of the Law of Thelema, absolute and perfected devotion to the Holy Guardian Angel and exclusive pursuit of the Way of the True Will." ... and I hope this gives you some food for thought.

8:05am If you haven't noticed, just above 'MY ENTRIES' it states that we are now posting an on-line calendar which will list those days that we have scheduled events occuring at Love's Sake Clerk House here in Berkeley just off Telegraph Avenue, near Campus. For those who are local, I might suggested checking this Calandar often. Maybe you'll even attend something?

7:45am For the history buffs: Gerald Joseph Yorke was born on this date in Forthampton Court, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire in 1901. He met Aleister Crowley in 1927 at the tender age of 26. Shortly afterwards they ‘parted ways’ but remained close friends for life. As to this apparent contradiction, Grady McMurtry tried to explain it to Phyllis Seckler in a letter dated March 21 1969. He told her that Yorke was “a famous/notorious homosexual, big scandal with him & A.C. in '20's, family threatened to disinherit him [if] he didn't break off with A.C., Yorke being one of [the] Royal Houses of England & so he did, but fortunately, kept up interest & collection of library materials.” In fact he became an avid collector and later in life he deposited his Crowley collection at the Warburg Institute. It is said to have been over two hundred volumes of printed books and hundreds of folders of manuscripts. He died in his sleep on April 29, 1983. ..... also, Francis Heindswatzer Pencovic died on this date in 1983. Earlier in this very year he founded The Fountain of the World at 585 Box Canyon Road in Canoga Park, California. It was also known as the WKFL Foundation which stood for ‘Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith, and Love.’ He also changed his name to Krishna Venta. He even gave up his life of crime, which included everything from burglary, larceny and sending threatening letters to everyone who annoyed him from President Roosevelt on down, which ended him up in a mental hospital. Within his ‘new cult’ Krishna Venta claimed to be 244,000 years old, that he had arrived on Earth, supposedly, in 1932 at Mount Everest and further added that he would never die. Be that as it may, on this very date, of December 10, 1958, former members of his cult, Ralph Muller and Peter Kamenoff, set off explosives killing themselves, Pencovic and several others at his compound. Krishna Venta is buried in Valhalla Memorial Park in Burbank, California.  His grave is unmarked but near that of Oliver Hardy, of Laurel and Hardy fame. ..... and finally, on December 10, 1957, the world’s youngest ‘Perfect Master’ was born in Hardwar, India. His name was Guru Maharaj Ji. He would inevitably inherit the leadership of his father’s organization, The Divine Light Mission, which had been founded in 1960. His followers numbered so many that in 1973 they were able to rent the Houston Astrodome for a three day festival. However, charges of fraud and trickery plagued the organization. One individual named Pat Halley, who thought the guru was nothing more than a fraud, threw a shaving cream pie in Maharaj Ji’s face on August 7, 1973 during a Detroit gathering. Upon asking why he did it, Halley smiled and replied, “I always wanted to throw a pie in God’s face.” Later Richard Flectcher, one of Maharaj Ji’s first American converts, and Mahatma Fakiranand, who had been personally authorized by Maharaj Ji to be a giver of “Knowledge,” visited Halley at his apartment. Upon entering these two spiritually enlightened persons beat and bludgeoned Halley so badly that he only survived by having a plastic plate put in his skull. In the end Maharaj Ji ran off and married his twenty-four year old secretary, Marilyn Lois Johnson, and was cast out of The Divine Light Mission ... his mother then took control.

Sunday December 9th 2007 – For the history buffs: Margaret Hamilton, the actress who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, was born on this date in Cleveland, Ohio in 1902. ..... also, Cecil Williamson died on this date in 1999. He was ninety years old. He had opened the first museum of ‘Witchcraft’ on the Isle of Man in 1951 and employed Gerald Gardner as resident witch. However, the friendship between Gerald and Cecil didn’t last, and after a few years Cecil moved his museum to Windsor, England, selling the ‘Witches Mill’ building to Gardner.
