~ MARCH 1st - 16th 2009 ~

Monday March 16th 2009 – 1:20pm In response to my 10:25am posting, here is the follow-up, blow by blow, between Jerri and myself about my eating habits. I know that she and others are only looking out for my best interests but, all joking aside; I think you're all barking up the wrong tree. I simply am a Crab, a bottom feeder. I am a certified member of PETA [People Eating Tasty Animals]. Anyway, I previously wrote - "but the only question left to be figured out is which veggies taste best with, well, you know" and I then added:

Jerry - “All I need now is cute girl with a shaved pubic area willing to have
guacamole paste, amongst other things, smeared all over her body at
supper time.” 

Jerri – “THAT'S where we might run into trouble...although, I have heard
of stranger things :)” ... she then added "Cabbage for the Caliph? We could
take out an ad..."

Jerry - “So the ‘veggie’ thing is dead in the water. That is OK. I guess I’ll
just have to stick to my Korean barbecue pork dinners, fried Chinese
popcorn chicken, pepperoni pizza or pussy just plain, washed down with
an adequate quantity of beer.”

Jerri – “Dead in the water??? Just when we've found the solution, you
want to stop NOW??! Oh...I don't think so...we just got down to the fun
part :O” .

Jerry - “I just got back from the Chinese restaurant. Does this mean I can’t
eat the fried popcorn chicken?”

Jerri - “Does it matter what I say??? You are going to eat the fried chicken
anyway...and then you are going to wash it down with beer, cheese, bread,
and whatever other toxic ‘food’ you might find foraging around the
neighborhood. Ugh. You are in big trouble, Mr. I'm bringing the damned
celery. Now, bend over!” 

Jerry - “Damn, woman ... you just turned me off vegetables for life! And
here I thought we were making such good progress. Admittedly, I am my
own worst enemy. I am too old, too stubborn and, in truth, as I sit here
alone and single, I have no great desire to change. Its nice to joke about it
but I Am what I Am.” ... And I then added - “I am a Thelemite. I
incarnated to gain a certain experience; for better or worse. I don’t want to
have a nice healthy, good looking corpse when I die ... I want to stand
amongst my ancestors, smiling, laughing and saying – “I didn’t think that
last piece of deep-fried barbecued pork was all that bad! But it could have
used a little more salt!”” ....... I then added this final comment – “Enough
with cramming celery up my ass, does anyone think those Yankees have a
chance to win the pennant this year?”

Jerri  – “Jer, Jer, Jer...I was JUST going to spank you with the celery (and
I wouldn't worry, Mr. Thelemite...there is little chance that you will have a
"healthy" corpse) but if you're not interested..."

... and I simply replied - “Love you Jerri.”

11:25am I was asked a question by Frank and I think I am simply going to quote a blog entry made back in April of 2007 since he asks a similiar question or “My friends and I are in a debate as to who believes that Crowley’s LIBER OS ABYSMI VEL DA'ATH is a doorway ito the Qliphoth and who dosen't. What is your views on the Liber?” ......... Reply:  Liber CDLXXIV (474) first appeared in The Equinox Vol.I:7 pg.77 in 1912. Crowley informs us that this Liber is - “An instruction in a purely intellectual method of entering the Abyss,” which is also known as The Book of the Mouth of the Abyss or of Knowledge (Daath).  It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the Qliphoth! If you read many of the earliest of Qabalistic text about the Qliphoth and ‘Daath’ you’d realize someone has ‘confused oranges with apples’ which has lead many good magicians astray. Liber CDLXXIV is preparing an Adept to enter the ‘Door’ by which all creation emerges. It is the secret how to go from Chesed-4 (below the Abyss) to Binah-3 (above the Abyss) when there are no paths connecting these spheres directly to each other. I highly recommend you find a copy of S. L.MacGregor Mathers’ translation of The Kabbalah Unveiled and look through the Index under the words ‘Daath’ and ‘Qliphoth’ to see where and what these concepts are properly attributed to. Magicians should never forget that they are scientists. You must continually be on their guard against those who have watched too many monster movies or read too much sci-fiction and who then want us to run off and fight windmills. ... “Of all our enemies those are most to be feared, who make false gods of their imagination.” – Aleister Crowley, De Natura Deorum.

10:25am Jerri replied - "93!!!! I LOVE IT!!! Sounds a bit like providence to me :)" and I quickly fired back – “I agree. The solution also offers me meat but the only question left to be figured out is which veggies taste best with, well, you know. ... Maybe we’ll just have to experiment?” ... Jerri may actually turn me into a vegetarian yet!

10:10am Jerri just now wrote a reply to my entry below -"Well Jer...'invagivegination' equals 1068, which has the same value as 'Supreme Ritual' so see...we've got the proper delivery method to transform the "detest"ed into something pleasing...problem solved!" ... Note: The word 'invagivegination' is a reference to Jerri's 3:57pm posting on March 11th. Be that as it may, I quickly replied – “93 & good morning Jerri! Wow! You just blew my mind! But did you know that in English Qabalah, and this is no lie, that the phrase the “essence of Jerry’s face eating pussy” adds to 1068? Now that is the solution!”

Note: 'Essence' number value of 193, 'of' number value of  76, 'Jerry's'
number value of  485, 'face' number value of 20, 'eating' number value of 78, '
pussy' number value of  216. Add them together and you get 1068!  No lie!

9:00am Did you know that the word 'detest' adds up numerically through English Qabalah to 92? This is the exact same value of the word 'veggies.'  Hummmmmmmmm ... am I onto something? 

8:40am Ed Wormuth writes - "Reading this morning's Blog made me chuckle at the idea of you finding yourself in the role of asking anyone to "eat their green beans!"  But, children will do that to you. They say insanity is hereditary, you get it from your kids." ............ Reply: I agree! There is a sense of hypocrisy in my comment, isn’t there? Anyway, I was the stay at home dad while my ex-wife worked and I was sane until I had to change all those poopy diapers! I think it had to do with smelling so much methane.

8:13am Mary is back, absent for a few 'cold Alaskan months' but she's back, or so she has threatened me. Anyway, she writes in her email - "I thought I was a friend? You don't consider me one of those squabbling children, do you?" ... and I replied - "Eat your green beans."

7:35am Andrea writes – “93's! Hope this note finds you in good health and spirits. Just wanted to let you know that I've been following your blog for a couple of years now, and find it all quite amusing. The squabbling children make for great reading. But mostly I enjoy the notes on the historical events. Being a paranormal/crypto buff, I like it when someone can throw something at me that I haven't heard of before. Thank you very much, keep up the Great Work.”  ...... I replied – “... yes, squabbling children are amusing. I once considered myself like my mother yelling “Eat your green beans or no desert.”  Ah, most magicians are like little children trying to find a way out of doing nasty chores. I love it! Glad you have been enjoying my blog.  It has been fun."

6:10am I have up-loaded the next or fifteenth installment of a series which Frater Hymenaeus Alpha 777 (Grady Louis McMurtry) wrote on magick and philosophy. The series is titled FROM THE CALIPH. The first installment appeared in The Magickal Link in October of 1981. I wish to thank Frater Orpheus for making this page and the other pages possible in this series. 6:00am For the history buffs: It was on March 16, 1244 that 200 Cathar ‘Perfects’ were burned to the stake after they had surrendered their castle fortress at Montesegur in France rather than ‘giving up their faith’. …..…. Also, Rudolf John Gorsleben was born on this date in 1883. He belonged to such groups as The Guido von List Society, Thule and The Edda Society in Germany and is most famous for his classic work on Rune Magic published in 1930 which had been called by many “The Bible of Armanism,” and rightfully so. …..…. But more important about March 16th is the fact that on this date in 1904 that Aleister Crowley recited an invocation in order to enable his wife, Rose Kelly to see the Sylphs, the elemental spirits of water.  Rose saw nothing, but got into a curious dream state in which she kept repeating “They are waiting for you!” And the rest is history! ……. Also of note about this date : the physicist and author Richard Alan Miller was born on this date in Everett, Washington in 1944. He is the author of the classic drug volume titled The Magical & Ritual Use of Drugs which was originally published by Aleister Crowley’s OTO in Seattle Washington and later by Destiny Books in New York, 1983. …...... also, Judith Darlene Hampton was born on this date in Roswell, New Mexico in 1946. Although she started her career as the quintessential New Age channeler, in 1977, this blonde housewife and mother was visited by a 35,000-year-old Lemurian God named Ramtha. From this date on she has become known as ‘J. Z. Knight.’ She later established what she calls the American Gnostic School in Yelms, Washington. Here she exerts total control over her followers and it is said, nobody questions her right, or rather the right of Ramtha, the ancient spirit whom channels, to define a creed or a doctrine. Her New Age audience has thus become Ramtha’s School of Ancient Wisdom, a quasi-religious movement. She wrote the book The Mystery of Birth and Death: Redefining the Self Channeled by JZ Knight from Ramtha. Who is Ramtha? He is supposedly a 35,000 year old Lemurian God.

Sunday March 15th 2009 – 8:30pm Ricky replies to my 7:15pm posting - "Jerry 93, Yes it is, but there is also Re-birth! And if we accept the formulae VIAOV as replacing IAO then all is as it was. The same in the end as in the beginning... Just more aware of itself as to 'what' it is, or isn't for that matter. I understand your response though, I think I just see the same promise that AC and undoubtedly Grady saw in the Order. And it may be youthful determination, but I wont give up on it. 93 93/93 Ricky." .......... Reply: You have fallen into the pit of Because trying to justify personal hopes and aspirations; you have also missed my point; rekindling the flame is rebirth. IAO is also a main formula of IXth; replace it why? Substitute it in other types of usages but not in its entirety. The Trinity is important. ... Personally, my advice to you and all OTO initiates is that you should never give up on the OTO ... Bill Breeze is an old friend of mine; he relies on your dues to pay his bills and living expenses!

7:35pm To my 1:23pm posting Mary replies - "I can be your amusing bed time story. Want to move to Alaska?" ....... Reply: No.

7:15pm My friend Ricky writes - "Jerry 93! Concerning your 12:30 posting. You nearly destroy all hope on this subject! I know that I myself am still young in the fraternity but despite what may be going on in the upper ranks and whatever core mysteries that are not formally taught anymore, there must still be hope that the lower initiations, if they are studied vigorously and with zeal, that the Truth may still shine through them and re-illuminate, as it were, the corpse of what we know was once a noble Order, and can be again. I find hope in the 'child magicians' the ones pure as of yet! Ones who search and dig out for themselves the Mysteries inherent in us all! The unenlightened man is a shell until he becomes a True Man through the self initiation of 'Know Thy Self". You said to me before, the Truth cannot be destroyed, so IT is out there waiting to be discovered by every person so ever who know where to look! It is upon the 'youthfulness' of US to revive and stir the eld of All Father! ... But I do see that it must come from the top to effectively change what is now. It's like that with everything! AC himself had to wait until he reached Magister Templi to revive what he knew was a dead system! Why should it be different from any other system? The upper degree grade papers clearly inform us that even in the darkest hours the Light can be rekindled ... the question is whether or not the present Lamp (i.e. OTO) will simply extinguish it. Remember, nothing last forever on this plane. Its the Laws of Birth, Life & Death. Does not the OTO teach us these things?  Is not the OTO bound by this Law itself?  In other words, the Light may someday be re-kindled but it may not be in the Lamp which we call OTO.

1:23pm A thought to a friend - yes, I love astrology ... the sexual proclivities of each sign is an amusing bed time story.

12:30pm I reply: Sorry [anonymous] you are young still in the OTO; you shall learn the Truth with time. The OTO, despite it trying to put its best foot forward, is a dead fraternity. It has lost its Mysteries. Today the order is like the old AMORC and Golden Dawn schools which once flourished but now are empty shells doing little more than repetitive dramatic plays while living off the writings of those who are dead. Membership in OTO is dropping yearly; this year they've closed, or dare we say consolidated, numerous OTO bodies into one in different areas because each branch has but two or three active members. They’re telling people that these branches ‘wanted’ to merge ... silly rabbits. No one believes this. ... Anyway, when the OTO threw out the Caliphate; then denied the Mysteries of ON and even re-wrote Crowley’s initiatory Chakra system on the Tree of life as to which Spheres were activated with each degree, their inner or vertical connection to the Mysteries died. They now merely wander the Earth in quest of horizontal or mundane gratifications. Although many in middle degrees and lower still have hope that they can rekindle the flame; this behavior must start from the top, not the bottom. Common sense should tell All that if you’ve ever read the Upper Degree Grade Papers about 'how' to establish Universal Brotherhood then you’d realize that the Order is failing. If the IXth degrees really are IXths they would know the Truth, as did Grady McMurtry, and the Order would grow and grow and flourish worldwide as it did under him. Grady was the single most magician responsible for spreading the word of Aleister Crowley, Thelema and OTO worldwide magickally but since his death the new leaders have simply lived off the legacy that Grady established and without continuing new magick they are slowly draining the blood out of the Cup of Babalon. 

9:00am For the history buffs: For days Bridget Cleary lay in poor health until her husband, Michael Cleary, and a number of her neighbors and relatives became convinced that she was a fairy changeling, if not a witch. To cure her, they tortured her to death on this date in 1894 by holding her over a huge fire in order to drive out the evil spirits. In an enthusiastic fit her husband set fire to her nightgown by throwing an oil lamp on her. He claimed, to make the fire burn more fiercely. He was reported as screaming, “She’s not my wife … you’ll soon see her go up the chimney.” ….....… and I should point out that Jimmy Swaggart was Born on this date in Ferriday, Louisiana in 1935 but he grew up in a small town near Natchez where his uncle had established the Assemblies of God church. Both of his parents were evangelists and his grandmother, who constantly studied the Bible, was with a nine-year-old Swaggart at a prayer meeting when he felt the call to the ministry. Religious, or not, young Jimmy enjoyed playing the piano and singing with his cousin Jerry Lee Lewis, one of rock and roll’s early legendary stars and this thirst for music would never leave him. Inevitably,  Jimmy became a street preacher on the sidewalks of his hometown where he enjoyed leading a congregation in singing. He became a full-time preacher in 1958, and in the early 1960s he began to record gospel albums that gained him exposure on Christian radio stations. He soon developed a substantial following at revival meetings throughout the south and, in 1969; Jimmy Swaggart launched his own radio program called ‘The Camp Meeting Hour,’ which eventually was aired over hundreds of stations. In 1987 Jimmy Swaggart was instrumental in publicizing the scandal that brought about the downfall of rival television preachers Jim and Tammy Bakker. But God rewards the good and punishes the sinners. Especially in Jimmy Swaggart’s case, where he was subsequently caught up in an incident involving prostitutes. ….....…. And finally I’d like to mention that after Howard Phillip Lovecraft married Sonia Greene, they lived briefly in Brooklyn, New York. Following their divorce, Lovecraft returned to Providence to live with his aunts where shortly afterwards he was diagnosed with cancer of the intestine and malnutrition. Toward the end he lived in constant pain until his death, in poverty and obscurity, which occurred on this date; or on March 15, 1937. He was only 46.

Saturday March 14th 2009 – 10:10am Dennis Currin-Duvaul from Japan writes - "I have been reading your Blog for the last few years and also enjoying your magazine Cornelia. I am extremely happy to see Grady McMurtry's writings becoming available on your website. He seems to have disappeared from the current O.T.O., even though he is an extremely important part of its history. Keep Grady Alive!" .......... Reply: No problem!

9:25am We now have Part I [of II] of The Yogi and the Commissar and Other Essays by Arthur Koestler uploaded and added to our website. This book played an important role in inspiring Aleister Crowley's thoughts behind the need for creating the position of the Caliphate to balance the O.H.O. of Ordo Templi Orientis. It was Crowley's views that without a 'Caliphate' (i.e. spiritual heirs of the Prophet of Thelema) that the O.T.O. would inevitably spiral off to become merely a mundane vehicle for 'greedy men' who are devoid of Thelema. So what is the 'balance' between the Yogi and the Commissar; between the spiritual Laws and those of the mundane? This essay is a must to read. 7:50am For history buffs: Algernon Blackwood was born on this date in Kent, England in 1869. As a young man, he lived in New York and later on settled in Switzerland. He is known for his writings about ghost and supernatural fiction, of whom Lovecraft wrote: “He is the one absolute and unquestioned master of weird atmosphere.” His powerful story The Willows, which effectively describes another dimension impinging upon our own, was reckoned by Lovecraft to be not only “foremost of all,” but the best “weird tale” of all time. Blackwood was a prolific fantasy and horror writer whose total production consists of more than 200 short stories, 12 novels, a couple of plays, an autobiography and even some poetry. He died on December 10, 1951. …..…. He is considered one of the most brilliant minds in history, Albert Einstein was born on this date in Ulm, Germany in 1879. What few people know is that Einstein had a great sense of humor. In fact, when an interviewer once asked him to explain his ‘Theory of Relativity’ in terms a lay person could understand, he replied: “When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute.  But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute -- and it’s longer than any hour. That’s relativity.” He died quietly in his sleep at Princeton Hospital in New Jersey on April 18, 1955, after a long and brilliant career in which his name became synonymous with genius. Like Aleister Crowley, Einstein acknowledged the importance of combining scientific and religious methods. Where Crowley wrote the profound statement: “The method of Science, the Aim of Religion,” Einstein in 1934 offered this observation: “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” …...…. It was on March 14, 1904 that Aleister Crowley rented a flat in Cairo. He had arrived in Egypt, according to The Egyptian Gazette newspaper of Thursday February 11th 1904, as “Lord and Lady Baleskine.” …...…. It was on March 14, 1946 that the German occultist, General Karl Haushofer, killed his wife and then committed ‘hari kari.’ After a very successful military career in World War I he became professor of geography at Munich. Among his earliest students was none other than Rudolf Hess, who later introduced Haushofer to Adolf Hitler. Historians are quick to point out that Haushofer’s influence on Hitler is evident as seen in Mein Kampf.

Friday March 13th 2009 – 7:15am Happy FRIDAY THE 13TH with the MOON moving into SCORPIO later tonight at 5:25pm! Yes, it is going to be a deadly night!  Watch out!!!  

6:25am For the history buffs: Lafayette Ron Hubbard, the hack science fiction writer and pop psychologist and founder of Scientology was born on this date in 1911 in Tilden, Nebraska to the naval commander Harry Ross Hubbard and Ledora May Hubbard. Years later, L. Ron Hubbard’s son, upon leaving his father’s ‘church’ would say, “What a lot of people don’t realize is that Scientology is black magic that is just spread over a long period of time. Black magic is the inner core of Scientology – and it is probably the only part of Scientology that really works.” As if to mimic his son’s thoughts, while Hubbard was alive, he was quoted as saying “Someday, I’m going to do something that will make P. T. Barnum look like a piker.” He died on January 24, 1986 while in hiding in California. According to a devoted follower who knew Hubbard well ¾ “he was a mixture of Adolf Hitler, Charlie Chaplin, and Baron Munchhausen. In short, he was a con man.”   …….. also, Alma Hirsig the sister of Crowley’s Scarlet Woman Leah Hirsig, more commonly known as Mrs. Marian Dockerill, published her expose on Aleister Crowley’s cult, Oom the Ominpotent and others in a series of articles which began running on this date in 1926 in the New York Journal, titled My Life in a Love Cult, A Warning to All Young Girls.

Thursday March 12th 2009 – 6:15pm A few of my real close friends are upset at me for not including them as a 'Friend' on my Facebook page ... Haven't you read my 7:45am posting? If your Facebook page is listed under some distortion of your name, or by alias or a magickal motto, you're automatically not included on mine. It is not my job to try to figure out [or remember] who you are every time you post onto my page. So sorry; anonymity need not apply!

9:10am We added a page to this website detailing the book THE YOGI AND THE COMMINSSAR and other essays by Arthur Koestler. This book played an important role in establishing Crowley's thoughts behind the Caliphate and the O.H.O. of Ordo Templi Orientis. The text is still being worked on and will inevitably be uploaded so that our readers can see why Aleister Crowley thought this book so very important.

8:10am John, one of my dear friends from Oklahoma, after reading my 7:45 posting sent a brief email asking - "You mean if a cute single girl, especially from your area, wants to be your friend, if you don't know her, you will automatically say no?" .... Reply: OK. There are exceptions.

7:45am I can see now why I always resisted Facebook. I woke this morning to over a hundred incoming emails; many wanting to become my 'friend', others commenting on stuff I've written and still others writing me mindless psycho-babble. Can anyone say "Aughhhhhhh!!!!!" First of all, if I don't know the person, I'm not just going to blindly accept them as a new 'friend' simply because a friend or others recommended them. Maybe I'm just too old, too old fashion or maybe its because I am still not 100% into this techno whiz thing. Give it time. Another thing; I got a few people using alias who obviously are my friend, but who the fuck are you? If you can't be open, don't write me! Do you think I can remember all you? It's tough enough to remember real names let alone what crazy ones you are presently using. In the 'real world' I don't replied to weird aliases, motto or other things so what makes you think I'll do it on Facebook? ... And what is this 'Instant Message' thingy where this box pops up across my screen and says "Hi jerry" and interrupts my reading or thoughts! It covers what I'm presently working on! DON'T FUCKING DO THIS! ... The other, most utterly distasteful thing that I find about Facebook, which is probably going to keep me off it, is that its constantly telling me "Your Message is too long."  How dare they!  I'm a Cancer, I'm winded. 

7:05am A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to Charles Salmon the astrologer who sits on the corner of Telegraph and Channing here in Berkeley. It is where he has been setting up his chair and table as a ‘Psychic & Astrologer’ for years. Click HERE to see a picture of Charles at the bottom of this particular page. ... In one article a woman wrote, “… we walked further down Telegraph Avenue in search of a psychic because I wanted a reading. Finally, across from Rasputin Music Store, we saw someone who looked promising. His name is Charles, and his setup was just a giant umbrella and a table on the corner of Telegraph and some side street. He asked for my name and birthdate, computed something, then proceeded to get a numerology cheat sheet and told me basically that I'm a ‘seven’ and that I'm psychic for an Aries. He then proceeded to some astrology then some tarot. My dears, for just 15 dollars, in short, this lean and lanky, Ric Ocasek-dead ringer really blew my mind. Charles really rocked my world with his honesty, exhortation, encouragement, and advice!” ... ah yes, Charles, he's also a member of Love's Sake Clerk House. ... Again - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

7:00am For the history buffs: Albert Gallatin Mackey was born on this date in 1807. He compiled A Lexicon of Freemasonry (1845) and many other books on Freemasonry, most notably his Encyclopedia of Freemasonry. Some consider him to be one of the greatest writers on the subject of Freemasonry. He died on June 20, 1881. …..…. And for the white-lighters, Stewart Edward White, the famous psychic researcher, was born on this date in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1873. His experience in the occult began in March of 1918 at a party with friends who were playing the Ouija board merely for fun when, all of a sudden, it began spelling out ‘Betty’ over and over again. It wouldn’t stop until Stewart’s wife Betty began to play, by placing her hands on the pointer. The Ouija then spelt out many messages, including the advice for her to try ‘automatic writing.’ For almost a year both she and her husband experimented with automatic writing, receiving a number of simple messages but inevitably Betty was led to a method in which she entered a higher state of consciousness, speaking in her own voice or “the voice of other entities,” all of whom always refused to identify themselves. The White’s continued these sessions with ‘the Invisibles’ from 1919 to 1936. Afterwards they published their first book outlining their adventures in learning about and entering the higher spiritual world. The book is The Betty Book: Excursions into the World of Other-Consciousness Made by Betty between 1919 and 1936 (1937). It was the beginning of The Betty Book craze, which is still pursued even to this day amongst New Agers. Stewart Edward White later became president of the American Society for Psychical Research in San Francisco.

8:15am I have up-loaded the next or fourteenth installment of a series which Frater Hymenaeus Alpha 777 (Grady Louis McMurtry) wrote on magick and philosophy. The series is titled FROM THE CALIPH. The first installment appeared in The Magickal Link in October of 1981. The latest installment was originally published in The Magickal Link, Vol. II, No. 11 November 1982e.v. and is titled ON THE GREAT EDMONTON BUST. It goes into detail when Grady was planning to visit the Nephthys Chapter in Edmonton, Canada in 1982. He planned on being in Canada from August 4th through the 16th. Unfortunately, after his Air Canada flight landed at the Canadian border, Grady ran into serious trouble with the local customs agents. After opening his luggage for inspection they found a small pipe that contained minute residue of marijuana, too small for even a legal clinical sample. But also they found ten small canisters of laughing gas and they arrested him for those. Grady’s first reply was, “I didn’t know laughing gas was illegal?” To which the custom agent with a deadpan reply said, “They might be explosives.” Grady was then put into a glass booth where he was able to watch as numerous custom agents went through his luggage with a fine tooth comb. Nothing else was found. After detaining Grady for a few hours, they decided that they couldn’t make a case and he was released. In the end he was allowed to remain in Canada to continue his visit and hold initiations. His visit was a great success despite its beginning. 7:20am Watching TV News I am so tired of these bleating hearty celebrities like Tyra Banks, Opra, Rosie and others who are discussing the recent Chris Brown and Rihanna incident while waving this banner that there is absolutely no reason why a man should ever hit a woman. Bullshit! Haven’t they been watching TV lately? Haven’t they been seeing all the TV Reality Shows which portray young girls using foul language who have taken marshal arts, who love to fight, brawl and who are quick to punch; slap and abuse all whom they get mad at. Or do they leven bother to isten to the lyrics in rap music? Neither give good role models for our youth but how many young girls think what they see and hear is cool and then try to mimic it? I see young girls with bad attitude walking the streets of Berkeley every day. It’s sending mixed signals to men. It’s showing us that women are no longer the dainty, quiet cute little things that society once depicted. My view is that if woman wants to scream ‘liberation’ then they need to accept the same responsibility as do men. If a man strikes another man, and the guy who is being hit is innocent, the aggressor is always wrong and any Court will tell you that the innocent person also has the undisputed right to defend themselves. Personally, I’m not saying Chris Brown is not guilty but I hate this ‘blanket’ aggression against all men which says that it is always ‘automatically’ our fault for hitting a woman. Bullshit! Some women are simply agressive bitches and if they want to be treated like a lady, they need to act like a lady. ... This goes across the board for both sexes. No one, I repeat no one has the right to lay their hands on their mate but if they do, male or female, accept the responsibility for your actions and remember, both sexes also have the right to defend themselves ... Liber OZ gives us that right!

7:15am Robert asks - "Is there any truth to the rumor that Jane Wolfe crossed the Abyss? I figured if anyone knew the truth it would be someone in your lineage." ........ Reply: This rumor has continually come up but in truth, Crowley believed she fell just short. In a letter to Frater Achad dated July 25th, 1921 Crowley wrote: "Soror Estai came within an ace of crossing the Abyss during her magical retirement" at Cefalu. But he felt she was not successful, although to some this will always remain debatable because it is quite obvious that after Crowley made his initial comment (1921) Jane Wolfe continued to grow spiritually right up until her death in April of 1958.  

7:10am One of the members in our man of Earth grade asked if their initiations will follow sphere by sphere up the Tree of Life like the old A.'.A.'. system once they reach our Lover grade or will they work out of the entire Ruach from Hod to Chesed all at once. It was a good question. In truth, most of our Clerk Houses, except Love's Sake and Double-Wanded One, are presently working out of the sphere of Hod (Mercury) which is part of three stages of the Lower Self in the grade of the Lovers. Yes, they are required to accomplish similar tasks as those of the grade of Practicus. This title is from a Latin word which basically means, “one who practices,” or “one who takes action” which is also from the Greek word praktikos, or “fit for action, practical, effective.” The root idea of this grade is activity. In Liber 185, it states – “Let him remember that the word Practicus is no idle term, but that Action is the equilibrium of him that is in the House of Mercury, who is the Lord of Intelligence.”  There is no minimum time that a person must remain in Hod and there are no rituals for advancement. One advances to Netzach when the work of the previous grade is finished.

7:00am For the history buffs: It was on this date in 1302 that Romeo married Juliet. …...…. Also, the German occultist Eugen Grosche was born on this date in 1888. On May 5th 1926 Grosche, known also as Frater Gregorius and four others formed an occult organization known as the Fraternitas Saturni. In the same year he released his infamous book titled Satanistische Magie (Satanic Magic) in which he boldly linked together Satan, the Virgin Mary, and the Barbelo-Gnostics. He died on January 6, 1964  …..…. And the writer Douglas Adams was born on this date in 1952. He is most famous as the author who solved the 'Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything' which he published in his now classic book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. For those too lazy to read it - the answer is very simple; it’s 42. He died of a heart attack on May 11, 2001. …...…. And finally, it was on March 11, 1995 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, the Chupacabra, or “goat Sucker,” killed eight sheep which were all found with three strange marks or puncture holes in the chest and were described as “completely drained of blood.” By August the Chupacabra was blamed for the death of over 150 animals throughout Puerto Rico.

To us, Thelema means diversity of ideas. Remember, the only law is do what thou wilt and Liber OZ tells us that it is OK to think, write and be different. That is what attracted me to Thelema in the first place.

He established the Abbey of Thelema in 1983 as a magical initiatory extension of Aleister Crowley's AA. He formed Headland Press in 1995. Some of the titles that he has published are Ordo Templi Orientis: Everything you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask (1990), Liber LXV Commented by Aleister Crowley & Marcelo Motta (1996), Calling The Children of the Sun by Marcelo Motta (1999), along with many others, various broadsheets, pamphlets, booklets and flyers. 

6:15am For the history buffs, there is a lot to mention today. For starters, the legendary ‘virgin’ Queen Elizabeth I, the daughter of King Henry the VIII and Anne Boleyn, publicly visited the magician John Dee’s house on this date in 1575 in order ‘to view his famous library.’ In truth, Dee was one of the secret advisers to the Queen on occult matters and who often did horoscopes for her. .......... and then on March 10, 1582 John Dee met Edward Kelly for the first time. Kelly, who was an Irish alchemist, theurgist and clairvoyant and magician, was born Edward Talbot. He and John Dee would start a long collaboration of magical experiments which reportedly summoned Angels. .......... and Nancy Clare Cunard, a close friend of Aleister Crowley and a member of his ‘inner circle’, was born on this date in Nevill Holt, Leicestershire, England in 1896. She was the only child of Sir Bache Cunard and Lady Maud Alice Burke Cunard. Her childhood was spent as part of the British upper class on the family estate of Nevill Holt. When she was fourteen, she moved with her mother to London and subsequently attended schools in London, Paris and Germany. After World War I she settled in Paris, where she became involved in the Dada, Surrealist and Modernist movements. Her three most famous volumes of poetry are Outlaws (1921), Sublunary (1923) and Parallax (1925). In 1927 she founded Hours Press which was located in an old farmhouse in La Chapelle-Reanville, Normandy. The Press specialized in publishing authors whose works had difficulty finding a home elsewhere, including Ezra Pound and Samuel Beckett. Unfortunately the press closed after only four years. Shortly afterwards she became intensely involved in the black civil rights movement in the United States. She seemed driven by the struggle and she spent several years collecting writings by and about African-Americans. She published many of these in an anthology called Negro (1934). For most of 1936-1939 she lived in Madrid with the poet Pablo Neruda, working as a freelance writer during the Spanish Civil War. She spent World War II in London, where she published the anthology Poems for France (1944). After the war, she returned to France to find that the Nazis had destroyed or stolen most of her possessions. Her later publications included Grand Man: Memories of Norman Douglas (1954), GM: Memories of George Moore (1956) and These Were the Hours (1965), which was a posthumously published memoir. .......... also, Gerard Croiset was born on this date in 1909. He was known as ‘The Dutch Clairvoyant’ and psychic healer. His versatile psychic abilities enabled him to locate missing persons, find lost objects and to solve crimes when called upon by police departments. The accuracy of his descriptions of various locations was amazing as was other information he was able to offer. He was able to tell people their life histories by just holding an object that belonged to them. This is a skill is known as Psychometry. He became well known for his gifts, even appearing being interviewed by the BBC. He died on July 21, 1980 at the age of 71. .......... and on this date in 1985 Francis Israel Regudy, better known as Israel Regardie, died of a heart attack while having dinner with friends at one of his favorite restaurants in Sedona, Arizona. .......... and finally, the author Robert Shea, who collaborated with Robert Anton Wilson to write the classic book series known as The Illuminatus Trilogy, died on Cancer on this date in 1994. He was born in 1933.

Monday March 9th 2009 – 10:10am Teitan Press just released a new book. Its titled Occult Spells, A Nineteenth Century Grimoire, compiled by Frederick Hockley. This is the first ever printing of Occult Spells, a work that until now has existed only as a manuscript in a private collection.  It is part of a rich legacy of carefully written manuscripts, left to the world by the Frederick Hockley (1809-1885), an occultist and Freemason with an interest in Spiritualism who in later life was associated with the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia. Hockley's peers considered him to be one of the great occult scholars of his time: in fact he was held in such high regard by one of the founders of the Golden Dawn, W. Wynn Westcott, that he posthumously claimed Hockley as one of the Order's most outstanding Adepts. ... Occult Spells is a sort of esoteric "commonplace book" in which Hockley recorded material on different spells, talismans, charms and such-like that he came across in rare books and manuscripts in the course of his researches. Hockley started compiling the book at about the age of twenty, and added to it throughout his life: he still had it in his possession when he died at the age of seventy-six.  The sources that he used ranged from "occult classics" such as Richard Saunders' "Physiognomie, and Chiromancie, Metoposcopie" (1671), John Heydon's "Theomagia, or the Temple of Wisdome" (1663); and Henry Cornelius Agrippa's "Three Books of Occult Philosophy" (1651), to relatively obscure works like Joseph Pettigrew's "Bibliotheca Sussexiana" (1827), and notorious grimoires like the "Petit Albert". The spells and talismans vary as much as his sources: from sublime Enochian invocations, through folk magic, and on into the darker realms of necromancy.  Thus it includes charms to determine "the name of the person you will marry" (useful only to virgins!), a quite poisonous-sounding "love powder," talismans for all sorts of purposes, and even a recipe for the creation of a homunculus. ... The book includes an Introduction and a typeset transcription of the text of the manuscript, prepared by Silens Manus, a scholar of Hockley's works who has studied literally dozens of his manuscripts. In addition to checking and restoring illegible words or phrases from the original sources that Hockley used, Manus has also added footnotes explaining many obscure terms, plant and deity names and such-like, as well as providing translations of most of the less common non-English phrases and passages that appear in the text. Hockley had also left a number of blank spaces in the text of the manuscript in which he planned to eventually reproduce some of the tables and diagrams in the works from which he quoted. Where possible Manus has included these in the transcription. ... For those who prefer to consult the manuscript exactly as Hockley wrote it, an exact photographic facsimile, on special coated paper, completes the book. ... Occult Spells offers a rare insight into the occult preoccupations of this interesting figure, whose work arguably had a profound effect on the late nineteenth century “Occult Revival.” ... He was a stage magician, excelling in mental magic and Escapologist.

Sunday March 8th 2009 –  8:20am If you haven't heard, let me quote this NEWS item which is titled 'Asteroid 2009 DD45 Misses Earth' by Mark Whittington. It appears that on March 3rd  - "A small asteroid, designated 2009 DD45, passed the Earth at a distance of 46,000 miles, a near miss in terms of cosmic distances. Though asteroid 2009 DD45 was just about two hundred feet long, it might have impacted with the force of a nuclear blast. Astronomers are comparing asteroid 2009 DD45 to the rock that caused the Tunguska impact of 1908. The 1908 impact occurred in Siberia near the Tunguska River and destroyed the taiga forest at a distance of twenty five kilometers around the epicenter. The Tunguska impact, which  was technically an air burst explosion rather than a ground collision, had the force of a multi-megaton nuclear blast. Had asteroid 2009 DD45 hit a populated area, such as a large city, it would have laid it waste. Had asteroid 2009 DD45 hit the ocean it would have caused a tsunami that would have devastated coastlines. Astronomers suggest that asteroid 2009 DD45 is now in a solar orbit that intersects the Earth's orbit. That means that asteroid 2009 DD45 will be visiting the vicinity of Earth again. The near miss of 2009 DD45, which was detected just two or so days before it passed the Earth, illustrates the continuing danger that the Earth faces due to asteroid impacts. Asteroid 2009 DD45 suggests that not only greater efforts should be made to detect and track such asteroids before they become a threat, but strategies should be put into place to divert them should they be found to be on a collision course. An asteroid 2.5 to 6 miles in length impacted the Earth near the Yucatan 65 million years ago. The Yucatan impact threw up unimaginable amounts of water vapor, dust, and other debris, blotting out the sun for years. It is thought to have rendered most life on Earth, including the dinosaurs, extinct. A similar impact in current times would certainly end human civilization and likely the human species. The idea of an asteroid hitting the Earth has been popularized in fiction and in cinema, including the 1998 films Armageddon and Deep impact. Another film along those lines, When World’s Collide, a remake of a 1950s film based on a 1933 novel, is under development."

6:05am but actually its now 7:05am since the clocks are set forward one hour today due to Daylight Savings time etc. Anyway, for the history buffs: It was on this date in 1989 that Aidan Breac died.  He was born in 1897 and raised in a hereditary Craft family on an island off the northwest coast of Scotland. He was descended from the Carnonacae tribe of Picts who lived in the northwest of what is now Ross and Cromarty County. For the last thirty years of his life, Aidan devoted his time to teaching the Pecti Witan tradition which is presumed to be an old hereditary Scottish tradition that first came to the attention of the general public when it was mentioned by Raymond Buckland in his book Buckland’s Complete Book of Witchcraft. Pecti Wita is said to be different from other forms of Wicca, in that it is a solitary tradition.  It doesn’t practice circle consecration, or group workings or the formalized rituals found in most other Wiccan traditions.  The basic tools of the Pecti Witan is the dirk and staff, and rather than casting a circle, he or she simply “centers” themselves. 

Saturday March 7th 2009 – 5:35am This note is about our dear friend Ricardo Flores, who is a member of The Queen of Heaven Clerk House. His students have released the Tequihua Newsletter March 2009. The Tequihua Foundation itself exists as a wellspring for long-hidden, indigenous arts of the western hemisphere, particularly the Toltec arts as interpreted by Fr. Koyote. The Foundation chose the name Tequihua because it means "builder" or "stone mason" in Nahuatl, the language of the ancient Central Valley of Mexico (and later all of indigenous Mesoamerica). The Foundation teaches how our ancient predecessors understood themselves as builders in relation to the larger cosmos. 5:20am For the history buffs: Thomas Aquinas, Catholic Church’s foremost philosopher and theologian  who was born in 1225 at the Castle of Roccasecca, near Aquino, Italy, died on this date at the Cistercian monastery of Fossanova on his way to Lyons in 1274. He openly refuted the Canon Episcopi which often put him at odds with the Church. The Canon, or Capitulatum Episcopi had been known for hundreds of years but it wasn’t until about 906 that Regino of Prum, Abbot of Treves formally attributed it to the Council of in Ancyra (314 ce). Finally, in the 13th century, it became official and accepted Doctrine of the Church. It’s doctrine became fuel for the witchcraft trails. Needless to say the Canon created about as many problems as it solved since it defined “witchcraft as Devil-worship but declared it to be nothing more than a foolish delusion.” The Church twisted this by stating that witcheries are delusions and illusions caused by the Devil, therefore anyone who believes in such delusions is considered a Devil’s child. In his Summa Theologica, Thomas Aquinas imparted this piece of Christian wisdom: “Good can exist without evil, whereas evil cannot exist without good.” …...…. and it was on March 7, 1881 that the unbelievably rich William Winchester died. He was the founder of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut. As a result of his death his wife, Sarah Lockwood (Pardee) Winchester, inherited well over $20 million dollars which was an incredible sum in those days. She also received 48.9 percent of the company at an income of about $1000 per day, which was not taxable until 1913. A short time later, being distraught at the deaths of her husband, a friend suggested that she should speak to a Spiritualist. During the séance the medium told her, “Your husband is here.” She then provided a description of William Winchester which convince Mrs. Winchester that it was him. The medium then continued, “He says for me to tell you that there is a curse on your family, which took the life of he and your child. It will soon take you too. It is a curse that has resulted from the terrible weapon created by the Winchester family. Thousands of persons have died because of it and their spirits are now seeking vengeance.” Believing to be guided by the hand of her dead husband Mrs Winchester started traveling and didn’t stop until she reached the Santa Clara Valley in California in 1884. She then bought a six room home and, to appease the spirits, she began building the house larger and larger, without ceasing construction on the building until she died at the age of 85 on September 5, 1922. The end result was a bizarre 160-room building now termed the ‘Winchester Mystery House.’ …...…. And I should mention that the poet W. B. Yeats joined the Isis-Urania Temple of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn on this date in 1890. He is known as Frater Daemon Est Deus Inversus. It is a fact, Aleister Crowley and Yeats never got along. When a friend once wrote to Crowley about Yeats’ poetry, he quickly fired back, “You write of Yeats as ‘a poet in search of a pedigree’ * but who told you he was a poet? Read ME!” …...…. And finally, on March 7, 1952 Paramahansa Yogananda died from a massive heart attack while attending a banquet in Los Angeles. He was born into a devout and well-to-do Bengali family as Mukunda Lal Ghosh. 10:00am We now have a portion of THE COSMIC TRIGGER, Final Secret of the Illuminati by Robert Anton Wilson uploaded onto this website. This book is truly one of the greatest occult classics of modern times in that it influenced so many individuals in the late 1970s, myself included. It is truly a must read. The part of the book that I quote and slightly edit [by removing a few random unrelated remarks at the beginning] is from a chapter titled MYSTERY BABALON. It details a 'Crowleymas' party that took place on Aleister Crowley's birthday on October 12th 1974 here in Berkeley, California and in attendance is Grady McMurtry and his wife Phylllis. 7:25am Regarding the release of CORNELIA No.20 which is our 'Caliphate issue', Paul writes - "93 Hi Jerry, Hope this finds you well and in good spirits. I was very happy to read Frater Petrus' introduction and memories of Grady. Frater Orpheus' words regarding Phylis and Grady and history of the Caliphate were informative and thourough. It is about time this integral part of Thelemic history has been brought out into the open and so clearly articulated, and with reproductions of Crowley's actual letters! To those who have been around for a while some of this has been common knowledge but the general Thelemite has been kept in dark, if not actually mislead, concerning Grady's legacy. The kicker though was your segment, Jerry. Talk about setting the record straight. Sharing your insight and experience of Grady's death and the subsequent Masonic trend of the OTO was sad but enlightening to read. People have needed to know that Magick has left the OTO, Liber Al has been relegated to the status of a prop used during Gnostc Mass, and the fact that there is NO Caliphate OTO. You have drawn a line in the sand that those who rely on secrecy and abhor the light will not cross. Motta's wizard is unmasked. 7:20am For the history buffs: Aleister Crowley’s Scarlet Woman, Frau Bertha ‘Billie’ Busch, was born on this date in Zurich in 1895, a half-past eleven at night. She once stabbed Crowley with a knife. …...…. And it was on this date in 1933 that Laurie Cabot was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She is the founder of both the ‘Cabot Science Tradition of Witchcraft’ and the ‘Witches League for Public Awareness (WLPA)’. In 1977, she received the title of ‘the Official Witch of Salem’ by the then governor of Massachusetts Michael Dukakis. He bestowed upon her the ‘Paul Revere’ citation which is given to citizens for their public service and, in her case it reads: “I proclaim Laurie Cabot the Official Witch of Salem for her work with children of special needs.”  She is the author of such book as Practical Magic: A Salem Witch’s Handbook (1986), The Power of the Witch (1990), Love Magic (1992), Celebrate the Earth (1994), The Witch in Every Woman (1997) …...…. Also of interest; the science fiction and horror writer H. P. Lovecraft wrote a letter on this date in 1935 to his friend Emil Petaja which stated, “In the 1890’s the fashionable decadents liked to pretend that they belonged to all sorts of diabolic Black Mass cults, & possessed all sorts of frightful occult information. The only specimen of this group still active is the rather over-advertised Aleister Crowley … who, by the way, is undoubtedly the original of the villainous character in H. R. Wakefield’s He Cometh & He Passeth by.” It is the only reported place where Lovecraft ever mentions the name ‘Aleister Crowley.’ …...…. And Jack Parsons sent Aleister Crowley a rather cryptic ‘circular letter’ dated March 6, 1946 claiming “I hardly know how to tell you, or how much to write. I am under the command of extreme secrecy.” He continued by informing Crowley that he had “the most important and devastating experience” of his entire life between February 28th and March 4th. He was referring of course to parts of his Babalon Workings. He goes on to tell Crowley, “I have been in direct touch with One, who is most Holy and Beautiful, mentioned in The Book of the Law.” He further informed Crowley that he couldn’t tell him her name because it is secret. But there “was a desire for incarnation. I was the agency chosen to assist the birth, which is now accomplished. I do not yet know the vehicle, but it will come to me, bringing a secret sign I know.” Luckily he decided that it was best not to send Crowley all the information, keeping out the Fourth Chapter to Liber AL vel Legis. Many believe that this was one of his wisest decisions. Later that evening, at the monthly Agape Lodge Meeting, Jack Parsons told everyone that he was stepping down as the Lodge Master. A special notice was given to this effect stating that Brother Roy Leffingwell “would henceforth act as executive head of Agape Lodge.” 

Thursday March 5th 2009 – 4:18am For the history buffs: It was in 1887 that the local doctor advised an immediate operation for cancer of the tongue and Plymouth Brethren from near and far were summoned to help discover the Lord’s will in this matter. They decided that the operation should be declined and thus Edward Crowley, Plymouth Brethren preacher and father of Aleister Crowley, died on this date. …...…. also, Pyotr Demianovich Ouspensky was born on this date in 1878 in Moscow, Russia. He died on October 2, 1947. In 1909, his first book, The Fourth Dimension, placed him at the age of thirty-one in the front rank of important writers on abstract mathematical theory. His second book, Tertium Organum, written in 1912 created a sensation in America. In 1915, P. D. Ouspensky, one of the most prominent thinkers of the 20th century, met G. I. Gurdjieff, who revealed to him the system of ideas that he had been searching for in his studies and travels. After establishing himself in England and later in the USA, he devoted his life to teaching the ideas now known as The Fourth Way. Ouspensky  became a major contributor to twentieth century ideas and throughout his life he continued to promote Gurdjieff’s system. …...…. And of interest; the movie Nasferatu, a German silent film about vampires was originally released on this date in 1922. …...…. Carlos Allende died on this date in 1994. He was the mystery man behind exposing the Philadelphia Experiment. It began in 1955 when Morris K. Jessup wrote a book entitled The Case for the UFO and embarked on a tour to promote it. Fascinated by the motive abilities of flying saucers, Jessup urged his lecture audiences to encourage their legislators to fund programs for research into antigravity and Einstein’s Unified Field Theory (UFT). The object: “to establish effective and economical space travel.” Then, on January 13, 1956, Jessup received a letter from a man named Carlos Miguel Allende who scolded Jessup for suggesting that the US should continue research into UFT. Allende claimed that in October 1943 the United States navy had used Einstein’s theories in an experiment that not only rendered a destroyer totally invisible but also caused it to be teleported from the Philadelphia dock to the Norfolk-Newport News-Portsmouth area and back again in a matter of minutes. Supposedly the experiment succeeded but it left side effects so horrendous that the navy shut down the project immediately until it could figure out the problems. Because of the intense force field used in the experiment, many of the crew members continued to lapse into invisibility or ‘limbo,’ while others went completely mad.

3:50pm Robert Quarry, who was born on November 3rd 1925, was a prolific actor best known for playing iconic B-movie vampires like the charming Count Yorga and the sinister Khorda during the 1970s, died on February 20th at the age of 83 in California. The former LA Times film writer Kevin Thomas described Quarry as an actor "in the suavely sinister tradition of Bela Lugosi." ... My favorite quote in The Return of Count Yorga (1971) was made by a character named Professor Rightstat who states - "Yoga? Yoga? Oh, no,no,no,no,no, I don't believe in Yoga. Oh, sheer poppycock! Tried it once about 40 years ago. Got stuck in one of those locus positions. Took three men to unwind my body. Well, what's that got to do with vampires?"

11:50am I posted this on my blog on Tuesday February 24th 2009 – “11:11am SHE'S BACK!!! My poltergeist activity has been very quiet since last August of 2008 but yesterday morning things began to change. I was expecting company so I decided to do a little straightening up but when I tried to put my camera away I could not find its case. I had left it right on the table by my knapsack. I searched high and low but had no luck locating it. ... Later that same day I recorded this entry in my diary - "5:40pm Now I can’t find the cap to my flashdrive; I had it right here two seconds ago. One second I was looking at it out of the corner of my left eye, the next, it’s gone. This is the second thing I’ve noticed today that has come up missing. But I wonder what I haven’t noticed? Anyway, it’s got to be my favorite little poltergeist; she’s been quiet for some time now and I can only wonder what sparked this activity? " ...... And today I recorded this diary entry - "Tuesday Feb. 24th New Moon in Pisces. 5:35am As I sat up, I just happen to look up and notice a picture (of Karl Germer) is missing from the row of photos on the wall. Odd. Searched for it but to no avail. It has glass in it so if it had fallen off its high perch during the night there would have been a crash and smash. But where is it? In truth, it could have vanished anytime, I just happened to noticed it now. But it is no biggy. If ‘she’ is up to her old tricks, with hiding things, it’ll surface sooner or later."... I took a picture to show where the item is missing and I added it and this story, to my special 'poltergeist' webpage.” ......... and now the plot thickens because yesterday, on Tuesday March 2nd 2009 at 5:07pm while my son Faustus and I were chatting, we notice a bizarre thing. The framed picture of Attaturk is now missing but it has been replaced on the same spot by the picture of Germer that disappeared on the 24th, however, the Germer’s picture is upside down. Where is Attaturk? Ah, I am being messed with. Even more strange is that later I realized that on Saturday morning of the 28th I took a series of four pictures of me sitting next to my laptop so that I could send it around to friends to show off my new toy. Since I was sitting at the table below the row of pictures, with curiosity running wild, I wondered if I captured anything. Two of the shots that I took were zoomed in revealing nothing above my head. One did show me from a distance but wasn’t that revealing but the other one clearly shows the (oval) picture of Germer from an angle and upside down where the picture of Attaturk had been or two photos over from the Ouija board on the left. [click HERE to view picture] ... As to exactly when this was switched I don’t know but it had to be between the 24th and 28th. Oddly, Luis Alvarado was over here on Monday March 2nd; we talked about the ‘missing picture’ but neither of us noticed that it had reappeared a few spaces down and another picture was missing.... I have a chain lock with key on my front door and only I have a copy of the key. Since the first incident I’ve been using it to be sure that no physical outsiders were getting in and simply messing with me. ... Anyhow, I love elementals. Most people get scared and want to banish them immediately when they appear. I want to watch them play. This is how you learn about these invisible little creatures. I’m convinced that they don’t want to hurt me but as to what they are trying to tell me ... I am perplexed.

8:40am Damn, its POURING again! It has been on & off for weeks. It is time to build an Ark! Ah, and like Noah it'll be up to me to save humanity! I'm up for the challenge! I'll bring in every animal two by two into my Ark! Ah yes; two young Asian girls, two eighteen year old blond girls, two vivacious long haired Italian girls and ...  :)-    

6:30pm This is to let everyone know that a limited number of sets of Red Flame, A Thelemic Research Journal volumes No.10 & 11, written by Phyllis Seckler, have surfaced. These volumes are titled ‘Jane Wolfe, Her Life with Aleister Crowley.’ They detail Jane's childhood, her time spent at Agape Lodge, Cefalu and up to her death. The Appendix titled ‘Jane Wolfe in Films’ details her acting career while listing every movie that she ever appeared in with rare photos. In fact, there are massive rare photos throughout both volumes. For individuals associated with Grady McMurtry’s AA lineage these books contain priceless historical data & if you loved Grady’s bio, you’ll love these too! They have long been out-of-print, are very rare and like other RFs, they’ll probably never be reprinted. These are original 2003 First Editions in MINT condition. 6:15am for the history buffs: It all began on April 7, 1962 at Westminster College at Fulton, Missouri after Tim Zell and Lance Christie read Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land. Afterwards they ‘shared water’ and formed a water-brotherhood called  ‘Atl.’ During the mid-1960s their group was centered on the University of Oklahoma campus under the name Atlan Foundation. They published a periodical, titled The Atlan Torch, between 1962-1968. Following a move to St. Louis 1968 the ‘Church of All Worlds’ (CAW) was born and became incorporated on this date; or March 4, 1968. This was the first Wiccan church to do so in the United States. The mission of the Church of All Worlds was to evolve a network of information, mythology and experience that provides a context and stimulus for re-awakening Gaia, and re-uniting her children through tribal community dedicated to responsible stewardship and evolving consciousness. In the same month they released the first issue of Green Egg.  The Church of All Worlds took much of its inspiration from Robert Heinlein’s science fiction classic Stranger in a Strange Land. In this novel a human being named Valentine Michael Smith, who was born on Mars and raised by Martians, returned to Earth in 2519. He established the Church of All Worlds, built around ‘nests’, a combination of congregations and intentional communities. A basic concept was ‘grokking’, i.e., the ability to be fully empathic. Heinlein’s CAW emphasized non-possessive love and joyous expression of sexuality as divine union. Their greeting was ‘Thou art God’ or ‘Thou art Goddess’, recognition of  immanent divinity in each person. The basic theology of the CAW is a pantheism focused on immanent rather than transcendent divinity, which is worshiped in female as well as a male form.

5:00pm For the history buffs: Arthur Lllewellyn Jones-Machen was born in Caerleon, Monmouthshire England on this date in 1863. Arthur Edward Waite invited him to join the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn but Machen never became all that closely involved in the activities of the group. He was more focused on developing his own brand of mystical Celtic Christianity. H. P. Lovecraft counted him as one of the four “modern masters” of supernatural horror, along with Algernon Blackwood, Lord Dunsany, and M. R. James. Lovecraft would later write, “Of living creators of cosmic fear raised to its most artistic pitch, few if any can hope to equal the versatile Arthur Machen.” …...…. Sonia Greene and H. P. Lovecraft were married on this date in 1924. Sonia confided to a friend, that Lovecraft, who had foresightingly read some books on sex, could indeed perform and was sexually adequate.

Monday March 2nd 2009 – 6:40pm Luna writes - "Jerry 93! I just ran across you on this site (Caduceus Books) ... "Earth" from The Resh Suite....this really popped out at me today...and filled some need that my brain had been lacking. Coincidentally, we have been doing "earth magick" for about two months now (a general ongoing exercise with Domino, Leigh and I)....but I wasn't "getting it" visually.  I had been going in the direction of fairies, and flowers (spring-y stuff)...and I just couldn't tune in 100%. .....lucky for me, to be randomly Googling "Thelemic Artists" today...because your "Earth" painting hit the spot and calibrated me with what my vision of what "earth" is.  Since my sun is in taurus at 28 degrees and in the 12th house...your painting is spot on for me "earth". Thank you! 93s )O(." ...... Reply: I had totally forgotten about my paintings on Ben Fernee's website. That was one of my favorite series of painting; the four elemental evocations of Liber RESH vel Helios which I painted in oil (11x14) in March of 1986. What is twisted about those elemental utterances is that they are each painted as seen through the head of a penis. Glad you enjoyed the 'Earth' !

4:30am Alot has happened on this date for the history buffs: in 1244 the Castle of Montesegur, which was the Cathar stronghold in the green valleys of Ariege in France, surrendered after a ten month siege. Some of the defenders were spared but the ‘perfect’ heretics, well over 200, who refused to denounce their beliefs, were burnt at the stake. …..…..... And also on this date, Theodor Seuss Geisel was born in Springfield, MA in 1904. He is more famously known as Dr. Seuss. One of his infamously ‘created’ words, which is now used widely by everyone, first appeared in his 1950 book titled If I Ran the Zoo. In this book his character utters, “I’ll sail to Ka-Troo And Bring Back an It-Kutch a Preep and a Proo a Nerkle a Nerd and a Seersucker, too!”  Believe it or not, this is the origin of the word ‘Nerd.’ Dr. Seuss died on September 24, 1991. …...…. And on this date in 1908 the List Society was officially founded in Vienna. It became a mixture of well-known figures throughout Austria and Germany who were attracted to the distinctive blend of nationalism and occultism propounded by this strange, pagan mystic named Guido von List. …..…. And Curtis Fuller was born on this date in Necedah, Wisconsin in 1912. He was once the owner of FATE magazine which he had purchased from Ray Palmer in 1955. …..…. And one of my favorite movies opened in theaters on March 2, 1933 - King Kong! It had a simply plot; an expedition goes to a tropical island where they discover a gigantic gorilla who inevitably takes a monkey-love kinda shine to a tiny little female blonde whom the expedition had brought along. …...…. The author Peter Straub was born on this date in 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Throughout the winter months of 1979/80 there were many discussions circling around Aleister Crowley’s OTO in regards to Peter Straub’s novel Ghost Story. Many believed that the author had improperly used the name of the Ordo Templi Orientis. The novel made mention of an evil organization and one of the characters claimed that the group “envisioned Satanism, covens; California lunacy at its worst” and when they were asked, “What is the name of the order?” The reply came back, “O.T.O.” This evil Order was also referred to as the “raw material for nightmares.” Amongst the numerous other tainted comments in the novel it also mentioned that the OTO had “a minor connection with the Manson family.” During this period in time the Order was trying to become legitimate and it strongly felt that any negative references, especially having a tenuous connection to Charles Manson, needed to be addressed and forcibly, if necessary. The OTO Board Meeting on January 27th 1980 passed Resolution No.105 that allowed the Order to retain a lawyer to sue the author for libel. To make a long story short, letters went back and forth between lawyers and Peter Straub decided to settle out of court. Future editions of his book would simply use the name XXX rather than OTO. Straub also sent a check for $20,000 in his letter of apology dated April 10th 1981. The letter briefly stated, “The first edition of my novel Ghost Story made certain references to the Ordo Templi Orientis. These references were factually incorrect. In subsequent editions of the book the name of the organization referred to has been altered. If my error caused any distress to members of the Ordo Templi Orientis, I humbly apologize to them.” It was signed, “Sincerely yours, Peter Straub.” ........... Also, on March 2, 1954, while vacationing in Mexico with his second wife Harriet, Paul Foster Case, the founder of the Los Angeles occult school known as the Builders of the Adytum (B.O.T.A.), died. …..…. And finally, on March 2, 1955, the cult leader of the group known as ‘Aum’, Chizuo Matsumoto, was born in Kumamoto, Japan. He later changed his name to Shoko Asahara. His religious followers were responsible of the Sarin nerve gas attack on the Tokyo tube network which killed twelve people and injured thousands in March of 1995. Years later, broke and in need of money, the cults new leader, Fumihiro Joyu, began selling ‘pats on the head’ for a mere $12,500 dollars which supposedly transferred his “sacred energy” to the recipient. They call it the “Shakty Pat.” This might sound outrageous but this was the same group which use to sell Asahara’s bath water to raise money. However, jokes now fly that either Asahara is no longer taking baths in prison, or the authorities are simply not letting his used water to be shipped out.

Sunday March 1st 2009 – 3:45pm Luna saw the new picture of the cat in the upper right and writes - "93! Dude, you look a little peaked there, sitting in your lounge chair eating salsa chips and drinking Pepsi.  You might want to take your iron supplements and step outside to catch some rays today! :) 93s  )O("  ....... Reply: Or I might just stay in and take a cat nap  :)- 

3:30pm Jay writes - "93 Jerry, I was just last night mulling over the Eucharist, particularly the Mass of the Phoenix. I remember reading somewhere-- Gems I think-- that this is a ritual for Adepts, but in Magick Crowley says that every magician should do it every day at sunset. What are your thoughts? Is there any danger in a Man of Earth doing this ritual? Love, Jay 93 93/93” ...... Reply: I have previously pointed out that Crowley has stated that the student “should do nothing ... which he does not understand.” ... So, if you know the ritual, have studied it and completely understand why you WANT to do the ritual then there is no law beyond do what thou wilt.

8:45am For the history buffs: The Isis-Urania Temple of The Golden Dawn was officially ‘Chartered’ on this date in 1888. Later, Arthur Edward Waite would unexpectedly take charge of this Temple and refuse to have any “truck” with the Secret Chiefs whether in or out of the body. ……. and I should also mention that it was on this date in 1925 that Henry Anthony Wilcox brought Professor Angell a strange clay figure in hopes that he might identify the hieroglyphics on the base. He begins a rambling tale with gibberish words of little meaning; like Cthulhu and R’lyeh. ……. And finally, on March 1, 1934 Charles W. Leadbeater, the ex-Anglican minister who turned Buddhist and was a clairvoyant and Theosophist, died.
