~ April 18th - 23th 2009 ~

Thursday April 23rd 2009 – 7:00pm 6:10pm Ricard Flores writes - "Jerry, 93! Did you get the DVD with the Teotihuacan Shadow Walking?  I re-sent it  last week.  Let me know if you did. Also, I told you I would send you a link to justintv, where I broadcast a live Telling every Thursday at 7:30: www.justintv/koyote93 Today, I'll do the Telling using your painting of On Dew Drops as a background and inspiration. Ricardo 93 93/93." ......... Reply: Yes, it arrived today but I haven't had a chance to watch it; been swamped with work. Much thanks, it is appreciated. I'm glad ON DEW DROPS has found such a lovely home. I hope this week's blog discussion regarding 'Dewdrops' from The Book of Lies has brought you smiles and insight into the painting. ... with deepest respect.

1:10pm And just when I was ready to shut down my computer for awhile I received this true gem of an email about Dewdrops from Jerri of Sacramento. Damn, woman you're good! ... I knew this one would unravel its mysteries if she put her mind to it .... and this is what she came up with:

93 Jerry,
Of course...Pranayama. I do tend to have trouble with the practical applications of my conceptualizations...but alas, I think was on the right track, but had trouble translating this in a functional manner. Yet, everything is functional down here...and has a practical application. We all certainly have the entire tree in our bodies at all times. This is most obvious in our subtle, astral bodies (our MOON bodies), which have both the masculine (pingala, warming and LIGHT) and feminine (ida, cooling, and DARK) channels running through them. What is the purpose of pranayama, according to the Yogis??
"Pranayama, the yogic art of breathing, comes from the root words prana and ayama. Prana means “life force” and ayama means “expansion, manifestation, or prolongation.” The practice of pranayama therefore is the practice of expanding our own prana so that it harmonizes with the universal prana. This results in oneness or merging of a person’s own consciousness with universal consciousness. It is in this union that we realize we are not simply a limited physical body, but are, in fact, an immortal spirit."
This would appear to be also the concept of chastity in the VII degree and it's practical application. It is the physical, practical act of focus upon the merging of the microcosm and the macrocosm. Prana, or the Lifeforce therefore must be the dew which the moon exudes. However, it gets swallowed up by the Sun in the Mulhadara chakra ("the stream floweth not uphill; the old life is no more; there is a new life that is not his") "The poison share is of the sun and the nectar is of the moon. Ida and Pingala indicate time." (I am also struck here by the ever present duality in everything...and the reflection of what is...ie what is being reflected is the OPPOSITE of what it actually IS...this logically seems obvious, but...still it is fascinating me in it's interplay...)
Everything must exist through time below the Abyss...and every time Life "defeats" Death, we must pay our due. We are always Death, yet we are Life existing despite of  Death so we age (thus the "poison") "Sushumna is the consumer of time." Sushumna is in the middle, and is the balance. Also, this is making me consider the relationship of Pe and the Tower in all of this. So, after "drinking" this nectar (in Pe), a marriage is formed and "I" am destroyed. All of these many months later, I think I'm starting to see it. Through the mouth (or at the back of the throat) I control the Lifeforce/Prana (seed...Will...the dew of the moon etc) and this merging of the opposites within (the Ida and Pingala, the Moon and the Sun) allows for the Kundalini (Daemon) to rise. Well, holy freaking crap...really? This union, in Pe, is the beginning of our subtle bodies union with the All...and our subtle body merges with Nuit in Art/Samech, through the formula of ON?? Hmm...
In many ways I've been looking at the union of opposites as external and internal things, rather than my own duality reflected in my body-again we have the entire tree in our bodies at all times. I've mentioned before that I wondered what the connection was with the Moon and Malkuth...that there was something missing, in a sense...this would certainly appear to be it. The manner in which we align our concious mind with our subtle mind...it begins with the Moon, and her influence travels from the highest to the lowest. Am I close??? Feels like I'm getting close... I don't know that I've got the names/locations of these things on the tree right, but  I think I am beginning to see this conceptually in my mind. In octaves, or a trinity of some kind.
To master this practice, we are provided with "immortality." To "Let this go free, even as It will; though art not its master, but the vehicle of It" suggests that this Prana or Dew must be free to travel upward in Sushumna, to raise our Kundalini... "Though art not it's master??" That, to me, implies the concept--one you control, the other controls you. I am merely a vehicle for THAT Will. The higher Will. The Word...or perhaps even, once my subtle body merges with Nuit in Art, I am STILL not the master of the Word, but a perfect a vehicle of it. "Pure Will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result is every way perfect."
Well, I think I am spent for now, and traveling in circles a bit. Am I on the right track here?? I'm stuck for the moment, until the next lightening flash and I'm feeling rather intellectually challenged...like a fish out of water...

Jerri

Reply: .... Jerri, you being a Pisces might feel like a fish out of water but you’re a cuddly little fish out of water. Keep up the good work.

11:30am And Jay writes, under the Sunject - "Ida Thought as Much" - "93 Jerry, Great stuff! I think the lesson for me is to brush up on my Kundalini. I'm not a complete foreigner to the Ida/Pingala/Sushumna but am still a bit lost as to the location and direction of the Ida Pingala. So the solar Pingala force flows upward through Netzach/Chesed/Chokmah and Ida downward through Binah/Geburah/Hod? I suppose it's an east/west confusion and a bit counterintuitive to a Qabalist used to thinking of the left pillar as masculine (and masculine as solar) and the right as feminine (lunar). There's much to think about here... I look forward to discussing it with you tomorrow. Love, Jay 93 93/93." ...... Reply: I hope you know your Subject titles are killing me.

11:20am I have a much clearer photograph of my rendition of THE MOON card which Crowley states is symbolised in the chapter on Dewdrops; its still not as good as I'd like but at least now you can see the Stag Beetle, Khephra clearer; who is the originator of all creations from the celestial waters. You can also see the 'Dew' descending with a slight redish tinge of blood out of the Beetle's mouth onto an eclipsed moon (circle) overlapping a lower circle/squared (Malkuth) which creates one's Lamen; both symbols are in front of a phallic-like mountain where stands the Hermit. This mountain is surrounded at its base by a grey fog like clouds of Illusion. The path on the other side of Tiphereth opposite The Hermit and the Sacred Mountain is The Devil; Lord of Maya or Illusions. The Kundry for the Grail Knight. There are green plants at the base of the mountain - Venus. The Twin Pillars are the Ida and Pingala. A pool of water - subconscious and there are two penis-headed fish, one beneath the waters, the other jumping out; thoughts in the Ruach; both representing the sign of Pisces which rules The Moon card. And there is much more symbolism.

11:15am Dave Solina from Florida writes - "Hey Jerry, 93 I am loving this Dewdrops interaction. You know I have to admit I love the challenge to make me think and back up what I have to say, even if it means I have to face that I hit a road block. In addition I need to take the time to formulate my thoughts more clearly. I felt I had started on a piece of it and should have followed the tail more than thinking I was done. You always remember the hard teachers.. cause they made you think.. and growing isn't always easy no pain, no gain. I ordered a copy of the Fuller book, to my shock it wasn't in my huge PDF archive (6 thousand books and growing). Just as well I love real books more than bits. Thanks again 93 93/93 David."

7:45am Within seconds of posting my 7:35am entry Frater Orpheus writes - "93 Jerry, Based on last night comments on the blog and the fact that things have now slowed down to a crawl on the blog here are some thoughts...I will add more later when more appears on the blog. 93 93/93" and then he adds :

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law

So here are some of my thoughts on Dewdrops…
This Dew is the quintessence of your “true spirit” first reflected in Kether and can be seen in the Bull of the Hierophant or that which is contained within the Grail of the Chariot.  On Malkuth this is none other then our ‘seed’ but is clearly much more it is that Creative spark and from the highest to the lowest this Dew is the essence of the divine Spirit that runs through us and everywhere is the Moon the key.  This being the case we must grasp this formula of the moon.
Everyone is correct this Dew is the quintessence of Kether but where does this come from?  In other words Kether is but a point nestled within the Body of Nuit who is here Kabalisticly referred to as the Ain Soph Aur.  She is the constant, Nuit and stillness while Hadit is Motion.  She then binds together the Father(I) and Mother(O) as Daleth and then the Spirit(A) descends below via the pathway of Gimel, the Moon and the High Priestess.  (The OTO Mysteries of Minerval through II° are very clear in depicting how the Spirit descends through these paths).  So this “Moon” is our pathway to and from the Abyss and in and out of life.  (Note that the intersection of these paths, Daleth and Gimel, is where the Priestess is enthroned in Liber XV and these paths are the Moon and Venus)
Yet all of this sits relatively high on the Tree and only presently serves us in understanding the divine source of this Lunar quintessence.
It should also be understood that the link between the physical body and the subconscious waters of the Libido are to be found in the Muladhara Chakra which corresponds to Yesod and the Moon.  The Muladhara is the fundamental lotus of four petals (the elements) and is that place where the Solar tides enter the body and it is here that the goddess Kundalini sleeps and our link to the HGA.
Yet the chapter Dewdrops more specifically deals with the path of Qoph which is the Moon in her lowest manifestation and connects Venus to Malkuth.  So it is here that these Mysteries of the Moon and how they manifest into matter (our Dewdrops) are to be understood .  In other words the “Moon” is quite literally that link from the highest to the lowest
In the Chakra system the highest influence of the Moon is found in the Sahasrara which in the OTO system Crowley relates to Annihilation and the path of Nun. So we are left with the question how is the influence of Kether and even those things higher then Kether related to this path below the Abyss…the answer lies within the Lunar Dewdrops of “immortality”…
It is said that the Sahasrara Chakra is 1001 petalled lotus whose center is a triangle or Yoni pointed downward…. In the center of this is our Moon which exudes the “Dew of immortality”.  And it should be remembered that in the Muladhara, where the Kundalini energies enter the body, is placed an upright Triangle …that’s  Sahasrara downright Triangle and Muladhara upright Triangle… the unification of these two Triangles forms a Hexagram a symbol of the unification of the Macro and Microcosmic or simply said the Great Work achieved!
So the influence from Sahasrara descends thru the “Pathway of Perfection” or Gimel which is ruled by the Moon and the Muladhara which connects our body to the Divine is also again the Moon and lastly we have This Lunar Mystical Dew which is that perfect part of Spirit that is beyond You in manifested matter!  Once again from the highest to the lowest the Moon is our link.
Ok so how do we utilize these “Dewdrops” in a Tantric Sex Magick sense?
It is said that in the center of the Sahasrara we have this mystical moon that continually exudes an elixir or dew and this moon fluid of immortality unceasingly flows through the Ida.
In the Shiva Sanhita we have this…”Every particle of this nectar (the Satravi) that flows from the Ambrosial Moon is swallowed up by the Sun (in the Muladhara Chakra)…and destroyed, this loss causes the body to become old.  If the aspirant can only prevent this flow of nectar by closing the hole in the palate of his mouth (the Brahmarandra), he will be able to utilize it to prevent the waste of his body.  By drinking it he will fill his whole body with life (see Fuller, Yoga pg.69)
It is believed that the Psychic Body of Man, or the Ship, has two currents which run through it; a Solar and a Lunar.  One descending and one ascending and these correspond to the left and right hand Pillars of the Tree. (418 & 156) and are balanced in the Ruach and ultimately “realized“ thru the formula of ON.  In Yoga these are referred to has the Pingala (Solar) and Ida (lunar).
In the Muladhara lotus there also dwells a Sun between the four petals, which continuously exudes a poison.  This venom (the sun-fluid of mortality) goes to the right nostril, as the moon-fluid of immortality goes to the left, by means of the Pingala which rises from the left side of the Ajna lotus. (Yoga, Fuller pg.64)
The concept is simple enough, if we hope to connect to the Macrocosmic thru the manifested realities of our bodies in the Sex Magick sense then our Seed must partake of the nature of the Moon.. aka Dewdrops…then the seed becomes our True Spirit manifested otherwise we squander our own Creative Spirit and the energies are simply Earthed out or worse.
But how is this achieved?…  By “blotting out the mind” and completely giving yourself over to that Creative force the drives you from within.  In other words lose yourself in “The Charioting“.  And, how does the Word conquer Death?  This is accomplished in silence. (III° OTO)
Crowley writes, “Our own Silent Self, helpless and witless, hidden within us, will spring forth, if we have craft to loose him to the Light, spring lustily forward with his cry of Battle, the Word of our True Wills.” (AC, The Law is for All, I:7)
In Truth these subtle currents and the Kundalini energies run thru our Psychic bodies daily and we only mean to tap it.  This Lunar influence of the true Spirit can never be destroyed… we die IT does not.  Hence why Tantras have long tried to strengthen or prolong life by partaking of immortal natures of the Soma juice of the Moon; aka Ambrosia and our Dewdrops.
At the bottom of the Moon card we see the “Stag-Beetle” which bears in his mouth the Sun  but this Sun is “THAT which hath no person” Crowley writes “It is this Beetle that bears the Sun in his Silence through the darkness of Night and the bitterness of Winter.” (AC B.O.T. 112)
(Note that Winter  is the season in which all vegetation dies).
Just some thoughts…more on the Moon later…

Love is the law, love under will

Reply: well dear readers, this is THE kind of information that I was trying to get you all to see and it is said far better than even I could have put it. Bravo Fra.O!

7:35am OK; maybe its time to spell out the obvious since the week is drawing to a close and I'd like to torture you all with another chapter from The Book of Lies next week. Anyway, basically, Dewdrops is about the Lunar Essence that is stored up in the Crown Chakra on the Tree of Life, which is the sphere of Kether in both the man and the woman. Here is basic Kundalini yoga: Both sexes have three primary psychic channels (Nadis) known as the Sushumma, or middle pillar; and the Ida and the Pingala on both sides. In both the man and the woman, their Solar essence (positive) moves through the Pingala, the right side of their body; the right side of The Tree of Life; while their Luna essence (negative) moves through the Ida, the left side of their body, the left side of The Tree of Life. Let us consider two major chakras that we both have; Saharara (Kether) and Muladhara (Malkuth-Yesod) ... Heaven and Earth. ... Consider these quotes from J.F.C.Fuller’s book YOGA, A Study of the Mystical Philosophy of the Brahmins and Buddhists - “In the Muladhara lotus there also dwells a sun between the four petals, which continuously exudes a poison. This venom (the sun-fluid of mortality) goes to the left, by means of the Pingala ....” Pg.64 and regarding the Sahasrara, Crown Chakra, or thousand-and-one-petalled lotus Fuller writes - “In the centre there is a Yoni which has its face looking downward. In the centre of this Yoni is placed the mystical moon, which is continually exuding an elixir or dew – this moon-fluid of immortality unceasingly flows through the Ida.” Pg. 68 ..... The Moon in our Sahasrara is symbolized by an inverted Triangle. The Sun in our Muladhara is symbolized by an upright Triangle. Kether and Malkuth 1=10 ... United they form the mystical Hexagram of the Great Work.  Moon Fluid – Silence and the Sun Fluid – Speech. Hence Chapter 69 in The Book of Lies. ... So, are you understanding Dewdrops at least a little better by now?

7:00am And about ten thirty last night Miguel sent an email under the subject 'Yabba Dabba Dew' ... he writes: 93, Br. Cornelius, You really know how to throw down the gaunlet don't you? :-)
“Verily, love is death, and death is life to come.”
Union of Chokmah to Binah through Daleth /Venus.
“She is death to the dynamic activity of Chokmah; Chokmah-force dies as it issues into Binah.”Fortune,1991, pg143 birth of the potencies of Chokmah, yod, secret seed, sperma, which also means death as they must pass through the gate of life and death =Babalon.
“Man returneth not again;”
But a star is born.
“the stream floweth not uphill;”
A self evident fact of nature. The path of the Sun. What returns if anything can be said to return at all is something more than what was originally given birth too. See next line.
“the old life is no more; there is a new life that is not his.”
Because it is universal. Reference final lines as well.
“Yet that life is of his very essence; it is more He than all that he calls He.”
Reference to Binah and Malkuth being reflections of each other as “He” of Tetragrammaton, but the root of the life given birth to through Binah is in Chokmah “his very essence.”
"In the silence of a dewdrop is every tendency of his soul, and of his mind, and of his body; it is the Quintessence and the Elixir of his being.  Therein are the forces that made him and his father and his father's father before him.”
The archetypal seed of Chokmah embraced by the Yonic (I like this word) silence of Binah which provides the context to the content.
“This is the Dew of Immortality. Let this go free, even as It will; thou art not its master, but the vehicle of It.”
Identification with this process is freedom.
93;93/93 M."

Reply: I love throwing down the gauntlet. I want my students to think, to learn how to interpret magickal, archetypal thought and to realize that sooner or later, if they ever make it into the higher Ruach, thinking as you know it stops and another part of your brain begins to take over. If you're not trained early on to use it, you lose it and when the time comes that you need this part of your mind to interpret The Holy Books or other obscure Libers, you'll be stuck scratching your balls on Malkuth with a blank stare on your face. This exercise in attempting to understand Dewdrops from The Book of Lies is hopefully forcing you and all other students to simply 'think' ... as silly as this might seem, it is important. To meditate deeply on a topic in the lower Ruach should, if done correctly, force the student to reach a mountain peak where he or she hits a brick wall. Hopefully they'll go on, and on ... but most don't. What better way for a teacher see his student's limitations if not in their writings? In truth, all interpretations to date that I've posted on this blog are fine and all hold gems of truth. There is no real right or wrong; hence it's all Lies ... but if, and when, the student is functioning out of the higher Ruach and when they reach the insurmountable peak our training would have taught them to continue and preserve and at this point they'll begin to channel a higher thought, seemingly not their own. Every true poet, artist or creative thinker will always tell you that when they get in a 'zone' things just flow as if coming not from them but through them. Yes, I want my students to 'find' the solutions, not to be told them ... people functioning on the horizontal plane or within mundane Fraternities need teachings or to be spoon fed; A.'.A.'. student once they have moved into the Ruach and are functioning vertically, find the teachings from within.

6:50am Last night Ricky sent in this email - "Jerry 93, Lying in bed I just had a thought, which may or may not be a good thing. Anyway, Yin and Yang, Yin is ALIM and Yang H, their marriage is ALHIM. ALHIM is a formula of Consecration. Dewdrops are the H while the Goddess is ALIM 81 the Moon. Consecration of ones self to the Goddess is the merging of ALIM with H creating ALHIM. As Nuit says To Me. 93 93/93 Ricky ." ....... Reply: I don't really want to bring in this Formula into the discussion right now, it will only complicate a rather simple topic. Although, if you really want to understand this formula I'd recommend reading Crowley's Magick In Theory & Practice chapter IV titled The Formula of Alhim, and that of Alim, if you haven't already.

6:45am For the history buffs: Allan Bennett, an initiate of the Hermetic Order of Golden Dawn known as Frater Iehi Aour (Let there be light), always had a strong fascination for Buddhism. At the age of 28, in 1900, he decided to travel to Ceylon to further his studies and to relieve the asthma from which he had suffered for years. He became a pupil of yogi Shri Parananda who instructed him in Hatha Yoga asanas and Pranayama and other meditation techniques. Later, while in Burma, he officially became a Buddhist monk, taking the name of Bhikku Ananda Metteya (bliss of loving kindness). He founded the International Buddhist Society in 1903. With health failing, his doctors suggested that he move to the warm climate of California. Enroute, he visited England. He arrived on April 23, 1908. Unfortunately, with failing health, he was forced to stay England and he never reached California. …..…. Also, on this date in 1922 Marjorie Elizabeth Cameron, aka Candida or Candy, was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was an accomplished painter, poet, feminist, actress and occultist. She was the wife of Jack Parsons, the famed rocket scientist and Agape Lodge Master of the Ordo Templi Orientis. When she learned that her husband had accidentally dropped a can of mercury fulminate in his ground floor laboratory and blown himself up, she supposedly, according to Jane Wolfe, “held out her hands”, open and in a gesture of shock, uttering her first words, “But how am I going to live! I don’t know how to make a living!” She also played the pivotal roll of the Scarlet Woman in Kenneth Anger’s classic film The Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome and was featured in two films by Curtis Harrington; The Wormwood Star and Nite Tide. She also appeared in John Chamberlain’s Thumbsuck. She died on July 24, 1995 in California. …..…. And on April 23, 1940 the Agape Lodge initiate Frederick Mellinger, in the presence of Voluntas Perfecta Omnia Vincat, signed a pledge-form on this date to be admitted to the knowledge and conversation of the AA.  His motto was Arte Unionem Manifestabo Gnosticam. …....…. And finaly, I’d like to point out that on April 23, 1979 The Brocken Mountain Lodge of The Ordo Templi Orientis was Chartered in Connecticut to J. Edward Cornelius; becoming the 4th official OTO body outside of Thelema ‘Grand’ Lodge in California.

Wednesday April 22nd 2009 – 6:25pm Ricky obviously thought about today's comments and now writes - Jerry 93! Ambrosial Moon= Gimel and Sun = Phallus His sole viceregent upon the earth. And it is destroyed by 'speech' or manifestation. Got this, the question now is, how do we get our internal Yin and Yang equilibrated to 'Merge correctly' if we can look to 'Dewdrops' for this it must be found in the final paragraph. The one that is so seemingly straight forward must hold all the practical instruction for this lesson it is just a matter of correct interpretation now.  Maybe this has to do with what you mentioned about AC and his experiments and conclusions on what 'works'. This Dewdrop is more us than we are, and so it knows what it 'needs' more than we. If we just unbind it (Nuit does tell us to Bind nothing) maybe that will give us the ability to balance the internal Heaven and Earth. Gimel surpasses the Ruach so the influence coming from it cannot be reasoned out, most likely coming from above it will seem right and wrong at the same time as the sex instinct does some times but that is because it contains those contradictions in itself coming from above. The last line tells us to let it have its way for this reason.  93 93/93 Ricky." .......... Reply: Nice effort but I think you've just walked off da cliff or you're at least hanging on by a few fingers. I've given you and others enough, if not too many, 'hints' as to where you can look for answers yet you continually harp on the same thing but only from a different angle as if by saying it differently will make it correct ... stop with the Qabalah and rehashing the same old info unless you fully know how it interrelates on the Tree of Life with the Tantra, chakras and the Kundalini which is where the real practice and understanding of Dewdrops lies. I cannot spell it out for you any clearer, I can only give you hints in the hope that you'll obtain an epiphany. This is how magicians learn, not by reading book or even by reading this blog. But if you do need a written foundation: Grady McMurtry told me to go out and buy a copy of J.F.C.Fuller's book YOGA, A Study of the Mystical Philosophy of the Brahmins and Buddhists.  I did .... and it has served me well over the years.

5:45pm Under the subject title - "IAOch, My Foot," Jay writes - "93 Jerry, Well one thought perhaps worth tossing out there, one that I had initially but didn't mention, is that the opening line suggests the formula of IAO, the death in love or unity with the divine and the birth of a new life. The divine then would be the He that is more He than all that he calls He and the It of which he is the vehicle. The Moon as the path of Gimel is the path on the middle pillar that connects us to the divine or Kether where the crown resides in and outside of the head. How exactly the dew fits in, I am unsure... Love, Jay 93 93/93."

5:40pm Ricky writes - "Jerry 93, I just got off work and am just now sitting down to read your remarks today. Give me a bit and I'll get back to you. By the way, your comment of "it’s when the mind reviews what it knows from the point-of-view of Malkuth and then goes blank from staring at the Sun too long." is right on point for me right now :) it is scarily accurate. Let me endeavour to turn the Wind of the Mind off for a moment. 93 93/93 Ricky ."

4:00pm Ed Wormuth writes - "93 Jerry, My time constraints are great, i can barely take a break [no pun intended], but I too will be heard, with a reply of just one word. "HADIT"  93 93/93, eD." ......... ?

3:33pm It's been very quiet on the blog today ... there has not been one serious thought on 'Dewdrops' to come in from anyone except for my carrot like offerings hoping to get your asses moving. In magick we are at the mountain peak where a student reaches and can climb no higher ... it’s when the mind reviews what it knows from the point-of-view of Malkuth and then goes blank from staring at the Sun too long. Serious students shake it off, focus and climb higher; others simply stop where they intellectually feel most comfortable, while others simply walk off the cliff. I guess many of you have reached your level of trying to Understand and have given up ... but sadly, I haven't even revealed all the final secrets yet and so, if you don't eat your carrots ... I guess, as in The Raven, I can only say - "Nevermore!"

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door."
—Edgar Allan Poe
p.s. ... do you like what time I posted this?

11:40am Ah, 'Dewdrops' ... here are some tidbits that I scribbled in my notes on my MOON card which depicts the 'Stag-Beetle'. [sorry, the photo of this card is not that good and its difficult to see Khephra, the stag or dung-beetle.] Yes, my notes are often babbling but hopefully they are insightful and offer a 'direction' for my readers to pursue. Anyway, I wrote how the Sacred number of the Moon is 81 as dictated by her Magick Square [9x9] and that Aleister Crowley gave his book MOONCHILD the number Liber LXXXI (81) ... and then I gave this quote: "The Elixir of Life was potentized for eighty-one days and nights, during which time all obstacles were easily overcome. Then, rising from the shore of the lake, the Celestial Dragon, bearing a sun and moon in eclipse, flew toward Mount Meru, illuminating it from above." - Sexual Secrets, The Alchemy of Ecstasy (1979) by Nik Douglas and Penny Slinger pg.159. ... And I also have a scribbled note how Qoph, the Hebrew letter ruling The Moon card, means 'back of the head' and in how according to Hatha Yoga Pradipika we can stop the depletion or flow of the Dewdrops toward Death in the back of our throat area. Also, note J. F. C. Fuller's book Yoga pg.69. ..... Ah, my private Tarot notebook where I scribbled the design for my own personal deck is filed with little gems. ... Here is a piece of trivia, myself being a Cancer, the zodiac sign ruled by the Moon, makes me partial to the quote related to this card from Liber AL vel Legis - "For I am divided for love's sake, for the chance of union." (I:29) and thus dear friends you know why I named my Clerk House Love's Sake!

7:25am Here is another clue in understanding Dewdrops according to Grady McMurtry. This is from Liber Aleph:

DE FORMULA LUNAE
On the formula of the Moon

Thus then concerning Operations of the Tao with the Yang and the Yin
is there enough; for thine own Art of Beauty shall divine for thee, and
devise new Heavens. But in all these is he Formula of the Serpent with
the Head of the Lion, and all his Magick is wrought by the Radiance
and Creative Force hereof. And this Force leapeth continually from Plane
to Plane, and breaketh forth from his Bonds, so that Constraint is
Labour. Now then learn that the Yin hath also a Formula of Force. And
the Nature of the Yin is to be still, and to encircle of limit, and it is
as a Mirror, reflecting diverse Images without Change in its own Kind.
So then it seeketh never to overlap the Barriers of its Plane; for this Reason
it is well to use it in Operations of a very definite and restricted Type.
But although it be inert, yet is it most subject to Change; for its Number
is four Score and one, which is the Moon; and these are ALIM, the
Gods elemental before H descending in their midst made them Creative.
So then thou mayst use constantly this Formula to rearrange Things in
their own Planes; and this is a most pragmatic Consideration.

6:25am As you all know, on Sunday April 19th and all week so far, I have asked anyone who wished to partake in the discussion about Dewdrops to feel free to join in and send me their views, ideas and interpretations. However, this blog (like most blogs) always includes the most recent entries to the top which makes reviewing the 'flow' of a discussion from beginning to end kind of difficult. To allivate this problem I have also created an [on-going] piece titled AN OPEN EPISTLE ON DEWDROPS which will automatically include postings from this blog to the bottom of this epistle. Thus our readers can start at the top and see in order all the comments that have come in as they have unfolded in the course of this rather important magickal discussion.

6:10am Long before we started this open discussion on the blog regarding Aleister Crowley's Dewdrops one of my students had supplied me with a gem in our private correspondence. I am posting these comments, not because they are 'different' but because the views are those of Jerri from Sacramento and it gives an interesting point-of-view written from the female perspective. Anyway, she writes:
"Hi Jerry, 93. I originally was thinking of dewdrops from the perspective of the Phallus...and I have been stumped by Crowley's commentary, wondering what the hell it is that I've missed here!!!! The Moon??? Hmmm..after much contemplation, I've come to another conclusion--I think I'm finally starting to understand the relationship between the moon and why it is it's influence flows throughout the tree, why this is the foundation...and what it means. This is just the beginning of my thoughts here---but it came in a flash of insight. First, the Phallus though:
Verily, love is death, and death is life to come.
A reference to the Phallus. Once the Phallus ejaculates, it dies (becomes flaccid) and it's ejaculate is the fluid that life springs from.
Man returneth not again; the stream floweth not uphill; this means that once the semen springs forth,  the fluid flows outward and downward. Not inward and upward. the old life is no more; there is a new life that is not his.
There is no getting these little seeds back. It is now gone, now alchemically it has been translated over into something else....and it's life is no longer his
Yet that life is of his very essence; it is more He than all that he calls He. In the silence of a dewdrop is every tendency of his soul, and of his mind, and of his body; it is the Quintessence and the Elixir of his being.  Therein are the forces that made him and his father and his father's father before him.
This, to me, seems to symbolize genetics and dna, in a way---and also the creative urge...in it's highest form. It is the driving force and the Will.
This is the Dew of Immortality.
Let this go free, even as It will; thou art not its master, but the vehicle of It.
This is our challenge or goal. Let the "urge" be free. The creative force, the Will...we are not in control of it...it is our vehicle of life.
Ok...where I've gone from here is interesting to me. I've been thinking literally about life and death and the doorway or threshold in between the two. How, one (life) can be represented as Hadit and the Sun, and the other (death) can be represented by Nuit and the Moon. I was picturing this concept (life and death) as a doorway--flowing in one direction--either to our birth, to our individuality and Hadit, the Sun, or to our death, our dissolution and Nuit, the Moon. Does this suggest that we must travel through the river of forgetfulness both ways??? By another manner, perhaps... Hmmm...I've never thought of the Moon as Death before...but, it makes so much sense!!!
Also, this makes sense in that death is the precursor of and prerequisite to life---and in fact, must exist before life can. Love is Death? Ah yes, Love IS Death, as it is our individual dissolution into Nuit. The way that this must function below the abyss is indicated by the entire interplay between life and death/ light and dark/ male and female, and the dualities therin. The moon is then the foundation because without love/death/nuit and her influence through out the tree, we as individuals--life, light, and Hadit could not exist and be connected to the All. Venus even...as love throughout the spheres. But, below the Abyss, the moon exists in the dark...somehow, still reflected by the light of our Sun...by ourselves. Why? Because we are always Nuit...but, still always Hadit, our mirrored existence reflected through time...there we finally have matter...the phallus, and the yoni.

5:06am Well, I hope everyone has been amused so far this week? Posting Dewdrops has been one of the most productive experiments of our minds todate. We've received many fascinating tributes to this chapter from The Book of Lies ... and last night Mick sent in his tribute; writing - "Being an English major in college I explicated a lot of poems, so that's the way I reflected on Dewdrops tonight. It's the most haunting and suggestive entry in the BOL for me so far. When I wrote this little explication, I decided to refer to the generic other as "He" to be coherent with the poem. Let it be said I took the Dewdrops Challenge!  :-)  All the best.  Luna - And WoW on the Dewdrops elves! Vibrant! And Jerry - great news on your surgery results! Now do stay well! Mick 93 93/93."

Dewdrops
Essential Condensations
Water, Blood, Ovum, Sperm, Art
Moon, Lust, Empress, Hermit, Art
18 + 11 + 3 + 9 + 14 = 55
5/5 = 1
5 + 5 = 10
5 X 5 = 25
Love is Death is Love

There is a new life that is not his. Maybe describes part of the creative process. Comes a moment practicing Art, as in life, he gives rise to something that has its own intelligent trajectory; composed only of those things in his nature that have proven true.
The new life comes about through contributing in some way to the collective dream of humanity. If his life work accomplishes this, his consciousness contributes to an imperative within and without that moves beyond his comprehension.
Dewdrop. Alchemical Quintessence (5). Elixir of his being. Condensations of the primal motive force that is his being - soul mind body dna of father and his father’s father before him. The momentum and character of ancestry and transmission. Lineages spiritual intellectual and genetic. An artist paints it. A musician composes it. A scientist discovers it. An artisan crafts it. A player demonstrates it. A poet takes note and doesn’t look away. It is more He than all that he calls He.
This is the Dew of Immortality. Dewdrops are the creative condensations of an Artist. While working any Art parts often emerge spontaneously from the depths and we’re compelled to follow them rather than master them. At first the composition, as in life, may seem inchoate, disordered. Yet trusting the consciousness that compels creative expression, he discovers the innate intelligence, order and beauty behind every impulse - an imperative within and without that moves beyond his comprehension.
Let this go free, even as It will; thou art not its master, but the vehicle of It.

5:00am Ricky sent an email after I had gone to bed. He writes - "93 Jerry, Of course! So this is the secret behind 'Chastity' the preservation of 'Life Force'. To 'Love' is to cum and to cum is to deplete the Life Force and eventually die. But this is also the way to produce the 'Elixir of Life' the 'Dew of Immortality' and so it is 'Life to come' and by consuming this Dew, this Ambrosia one may not lose but replenish the original virility. Also, if I may, it is the secret behind a certain method of consecrating talismans, to impart the essence of ones own Life into a 'dead' object giving Life to it. Its amazing that I had never realized this aspect of the 'Dew'. I had always gone straight to the method of externalizing this force but I was missing the Foundation the whole time! 93 93/93 Ricky ." ......... Reply: Ah, you're thinking too much again. Stop trying to draw in so many analogies that your analytical, intellectual side kicks in and you're thown into a Pit of Because. Stay focused. ... Also, the secret behind VIIth Degree 'Chastity' is not the preservation of 'Life Force'. You're confusing apples with oranges; opposite ends of the Tree. Chastity has a different purpose.

4:45am For the history buffs: Bettie Page, the ultimate 50s pin-up model and pop culture icon, was born on this date in Nashville, Tennessee in 1923. Her father, Roy, was an auto-mechanic. Her mother, Edna, was part Cherokee. She was the nice girl but naughty, often shy while being daring, simple and exotic, Bettie portrayed a freshness never before seen in the modeling scene. Without elaborate props, costumes, or even set-dressings, Bettie produced some of the most beautiful shots to ever grace the covers of hundreds of magazines. Bettie once said, “I was not trying to be shocking, or to be a pioneer. I wasn’t trying to change society, or to be ahead of my time. I didn’t think of myself as liberated, and I don’t believe that I did anything important. I was just myself. I didn’t know any other way to be, or any other way to live.” ….......…. and Adolf Lanz founder of  The New Templars, whose writings influenced Adolf Hitler, was expelled from the Cistercian Monastery where he had been hiding and he died shortly thereafter, on this date in 1954. …..........…. And I’d like to point out that some guy named J. Edward Cornelius swore the Oath of the Abyss in the AA in front of Grady Louis McMurtry in Syracuse, New York on this date in 1984. Ah, the memories!

Tuesday April 21st 2009 – 8:00pm Ah, Luna writes - "93! I've been goofing around with my watercolor pencils.  I found that by dipping one of them which name, printed on the pencil is: "CaputMortuumHell/Maras Violet Light" [manufactured by "CretaColor-AquaMonolith"] in water (or beer, whatever is sitting next to me while I draw) and then making some short sweeping strokes on my paper...that I can create the funniest little "demons". I've been Reading "DewDrops 1H', from "The Book of Lies" but cannot come up with anything to write...but did draw one of the attached for the poem. enjoy the new discovery of demonic watercolor pencils. 93s )O( ."   ..... Reply: I love it! And if you'd like to see her drawing, click HERE.

7:25pm Regarding Dewdrops Ricky writes - "Jerry 93! Glad to hear that the only cancer you have is your Star! Very good news indeed! Regarding Dewdrops, I'm stuck. After last nights articulation it seems I've hit a wall. I get what this means so far but it seems that there must be  'a factor infinite & unknown'.. to me atleast. I've known what I set in words yesterday for some time. I believe I entertained this idea and ultimately excepted it back when I endeavoured to classify the sexual act on the OTz ChIIM, close to a year ago. But, what does it mean? What does this classification tell us in practice? The problem is I think, is it's all theory. How do we 'use' Kether? AHA! But it is not Kether per se be the influence thereof! Does this chapter just affirm that the seed is the Seed of the Universe? Is the purpose of Dewdrops simply reassurance of what we already thought to be the case? And then a charge to 'go with the flow' as it were? I'm not so sure. But maybe I'm expecting too much. At any rate, back to the drawing board. 93 93/93 Ricky."  ......... Reply: Consider my 5:50pm reply to you on Monday regarding the 'Elixir' by different names. In all cases it was believed that the ‘Dewdrops’ contain our vitality, rooted in Kether on the Tree of Life, and that it slowly depletes throughout our life which inevitably brings about disease and death on Malkuth. This ‘elixir’ is believed to be the binding factor behind our incarnation; the sum total of which we are, have been and the experience we now desire stretching back to the dawn of our generations. In some teachings the secret of retaining our vitality is to refrain from ejaculating in order to recycle the inner essence of our sperm. Speech implies utterance and Death while in Silence the Great Work accomplished. But such teachings seem to imply that only the man [with sperm] can obtain and that the woman cannot. Oddly, in many such schools the women is seen merely as a Vampire seeking man’s vitality which inevitably causes his death. Other schools of thought see the woman merely as a vehicle at the man’s disposal and that by mixing the actual physical manifested male essence of the Lion from the sacred Wand in a sacred Chalice containing the female bodily essence of the Eagle, the Elixir can be obtained and utilized; of course always by the man. Still, Aleister Crowley, acting as a scientist, tried numerous methods of obtaining the ‘Dew of Immortality’ from abstinence, to masturbation, to sex with anything that couldn’t out run him and his own conclusion was that they all worked depending upon the individual who is utilizing the methods per their own proclivities as dictated by the astrological vehicle that they chose to fulfill their True Will. The secret is that ‘sex’ of any type moves our internal Yin (female) a Yang (male), our internal Heaven and Earth, but learning how to merge these two principles ‘correctly’ is what produces the true ‘Dew of Immortality’ in both the man and the women. See The Book of Lies, Chapter 69. In truth; the Dew is the substance which connects the Above with the Below; the lose of this connection between our Spirit (Kether) and our Body (Malkuth), means that we die. ...... “Every particle of this nectar that flows from the Ambrosial Moon is swallowed up by the Sun (in the Muladhara Chakra) and destroyed. This loss causes the body to become old.” – from Shiva Sanhita

2:05pm Marilyn of Weisers writes regarding my 12:38 posting – “Dear Jerry, That is great news. Can't believe it took them so long to give you the results though. Not good for the nerves waiting for such things." ..... Reply: I agree, it's been a long two and half months! ........ and Jerri from Sacramento writes - "HA!!!! Good news. Very, very good!!!! I am relieved to hear it. Now, you just must eat your veggies :) ...." ........ Reply: Are you referring to eating female vegtables?

12:38pm Well, I spent the better part of the morning at the doctors. Some of you might remember that in early February I had a cancer scare and I ended up in the Hospital where tests were taken, pieces were removed & etcs! Two months later, all the biopsies are now back and it is good news; they're all negative; outside of being a Cancer, at least I don’t have cancer!

6:05am Regarding 'Dewdrops', Evelyn writes - "93 Dear Jerry, I read the poem which can be interpreted at several levels. This is simply what the poem says to me on an initial reading. On another level it is also about the individual's alchemical transformation. The sex act leads to orgasm and thence ejaculation. The is ultimately a triple "death" (end of the erection, end of orgasm and release of semen). But the "death"  also gives way to potentially new life through the release and journey of the sperm. The sperm (in union with the egg) becomes the "elixir" of life. Within its successful union lies the potential for immortality as long as the cycle of producing new life continues. The "elixir" contains past, present and future - all the genetic material and memory within the cells from our forefathers and from the beginning of time. This is how man becomes immortal - through the creation of life, the continuation of the chain of life. The simple sex act is man's duty and destiny to continue life and to hopefully evolve with each successive generation.  Enjoy your day. Evelyn ." .......... Reply: Very good but here are a few facts: The Book of Lies, wherein Dewdrops appears, is also falsely called BREAKS. The Wanderings or Falsifications of the One Thought of Frater Perdurabo, which Thought is itself Untrue. Aleister Crowley has written - "This book deals with many matters on all planes of the very highest importance. It is an official publication for Babes of the Abyss, but is recommended even to beginners as highly suggestive." ... and thus interpretations will vary widly depending upon where on the Sacred Mountain of Abiegnus one stands!

5:30am For the history buffs: On this date in 1924 the noted Victorian occult romancer and author Mary Mackay, more commonly known to the world as Marie Corelli, died at Stratford-upon-Avon in England. She openly proclaimed herself a lesbian at time when such proclivities were frown upon. In fact, she was known as a ‘man-hater’ and it was said that having avowed “such hatred & disgust for the male portion of our species that if a man only touches her by accident she feels a sense of outrage for days.” It has also been said that Ludwig van Beethoven was the only man she could have loved and that was “because he has the advantage of being dead.” She is most famous for her novels titled A Romance of Two Worlds (1886), The Soul of Lilith (1892) and the Sorrows of Satan (1895) to name but a few of her many works. Her birth date has always been speculated but most agree that she was born near London on or about May 1, 1855.

Monday April 20th 2009 – 5:50pm Regarding Crowley's chapter on 'Dewdrops', Ricky writes - "93 Jerry, Dont give up on us Jerry we're trying! Interestingly enough Gimle = Chokmah in a sense for both equal 73. Chokmah is Kether in Action and being so it is Mezla the influence from Kether. In AC's commentary he says "the penultimate paragraph, Vindu is identified with Amrita" taking this as the Sanskrit term 'Bindu' or the Point from whence creation ensues, the unity (or Kether) from which the universe arises is identified with Amrita or the Elixir or 'Dew of Immortality." The fourth paragraph talks about the nature of the 'Dewdrops' or the 'poison' yods tinged with Blood (or the animating Life force, the vehicle of Prana) in Atu XVIII. They are Kether which is the top most point of the Yod and thus the animating force of the semen. There I go again analysing it to death. I hold that it is speaking quite clearly of the Semen and its relation to Kether. I think. :) 93 93/93 Ricky." .............. Reply: Now we're heading toward the right track. Alchemists, often using the writing of Hermes Trismegistus, were notorious for trying to create an actual physical Elixir of Life or Philosopher’s Stone known as “the white drops” or liquid gold. Arabs believed that this drink gives us eternal youth, some Eastern religions call this drink Amrita and believe that is was given to us by the Gods, while the Greek called this nectar ambrosia; but regardless of what it is called all believe it to be something that you drink in order to obtain an internal process of transforming your Life-Essence throughout your body in order to gain immortality. In the Tantras they refer to the essence as the "Dewdrops of the Moon."

12:35pm I added eight more pictures on 'The Book of the Law Feast page' which were taken by Mick.  Click HERE for details.

10:40am Here is Aleister Crowley's personal COMMENTARY to Dewdrops - "COMMENTARY (ΙΗ). The 18th key of the Tarot refers to the Moon, which was supposed to shed dew.  The appropriateness of the chapter title is obvious. The chapter must be read in connection with Chapters 1 and 16. I the penultimate paragraph, Vindu is identified with Amrita, and in the last paragraph the disciple is charged to let it have its own way.  It has a will of its own, which is more in accordance with the Cosmic Will, than that of the man who is its guardian and servant."

10:30am Jay replies under the subject "Do Drop" writing - "93 Jerry, Well, in our defense, The Book of Lies is perhaps Crowley's most obscure work, pertaining as it does to the Babes of the Abyss. How many of us can claim that level of understanding? However, your hint leads me to think of the path of Gimel. Is this path not ruled by Mezilah? Mezilah, I believe is somehow related to death, but I remember not how. Gimel is also, as you have pointed out in the past, the only path that leads from the body to that which is outside of teh body... There are some things there, maybe... But rather than get Qabalistic overanalytic, I will take my leave. Love, Jay 93 93/93." ....... Reply: Very good but in shredding your defense, a VIIth Degree OTO initiate is hardly a 'Babe in the Abyss' and he's told that seven chapters in particular reveal his secrets. Failure to understand these Chapters means failure as a IXth. So perhaps The Book of Lies, originally the teachings for a Babe, is also his guidance to be carried below? And yes, Ghimel is referred to as the 'Uniting Intelligeance' which allows us to transcend our bodies; thus the Moon's connection to astral travel. But lets not look 'outside' our bodies for the answer to the origins of 'Dewdrops.'

9:20am I received a few more comments on Dewdrops but they were so far off that I have decided not to post them. This is supposedly a serious magickal discourse on a rather important foundational topic but I'm surprised that no one is getting it! I'm also surprised that the majority of my serious students are remaining quiet on this topic as if to hope that they won't be noticed; thus not being seen as possibly being 'wrong.' Also, where are the serious comments from the girls? I fear that this discourse won't go on for the full week at this rate but it will rather fizzle out by tomorrow. Anyway, back in the seventies when I took VIIth Degree OTO, Grady McMurtry pointed out in the original typed manuscript of Liber De Natura Deorum, Sub Figvra CCXXVIII (228) – Of the Nature of the Gods, that as a true VIIth I am required to know the secrets to certain Chapters in The Book of Lies. He explained Dewdrops. It blew my mind.

6:30am Miguel sent in an email regarding Crowley's Dewdrops, he writes - "93, Br. Cornelius, "Love is death” Daleth as Venus and Venus is associated with Nun, Atu XIII (Death) by being exalted in Pisces the fish which is Atu 18 the Moon. 18=Cheth + Yod= Chi “life” as in " "For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its life.” Leviticus 17:14 Blood figured as wine is ecstasy; the ecstasy that is Pan (the All). The Dewdrop is the “secret self” the “dwarf soul” which is created through the union of Binah and Chokmah through the path of Daleth(venus/love); the pearls of “The Oyster.” Daleth crosses Atu III “The High Priestess” who is also the moon, the virgin mother who gives birth to the Sun/son the father's(chokmah) reflection. “Yet that life is of his very essence; it is more He than all that he calls He.” “He” being “the Star” in the book of Thoth; the essence of the father (Chokmah) fulfilled through the son (Tiphareth). The chapter describes the sacrifice/consecration of the Magister Templi. 93;93/93 M." ................ Reply: Very interesting. It made me think. It is a sound interpretation but still off. In a way it proves the theory about The Book of Lies, spawned in the Abyss, bathed in Chaos 333, we all see only the images of our Life per our own needs while in the clutches of Death. On that note: men think [in the Ruach] from the side of the Tree (Hod) which is very 'intellectual', very 'analytical', women, on the other hand, usually approach the Subject from the 'emotional' side of their Tree (Netzach). What I'm getting at is that all the men seem to be reading this chapter and 'analyzing' it to death ... all I can say is stop, don't think, read the chapter, let it sink in and let it speak to you as to where you can read further to find the solution. Stop looking at the obvious.

6:15am For the history buffs: Dr. Wynn Westcott and William Woodman had introduced McGregor Mathers to The Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (S.R.I.A.) and the latter was initiated on this date in 1882 as a Zelator, choosing the motto S. Rhioghail Mo Dhream, which means ‘Royal is my Race.’ …,,,…. Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula, died in London on this date in 1912 at the age of 65. He was cremated at Golders Green Cemetery in London. An obituary in The London Times stated that Stoker “was the master of a particularly lurid and creepy kind of fiction.” Some people have speculated that Stoker was a member of the Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn but no evidence has ever surfaced to support this assertion. …,,…. Norman Mudd, the gifted ‘one eyed’ mathematician, arrived at Crowley’s Abbey of Thelema at Cefalu on this date in 1923. Upon joining the AA he assumed the motto Omnia Pro Veritate, which means ‘All for Truth.’ Crowley would later write about Mudd as - “a nearly liquid mass of loathesome of detestable putrescence. - but oh that ‘nearly’. He won’t flow; he is a clammy poultice of sour war-bread. He clings, he clogs, he chokes.” ,,……. And it was on April 20, 1959   that the body of Dr. Morris K. Jessup was found in his station wagon parked in Coral Gables recreational area in Florida. His death was made to look like an obvious suicide, with a rubber hose attached to the exhaust pipe and looped back into the interior. And although his death certificate reads, “acute carbon monoxide intoxication,” many believe that he was murdered. The reasons stem from three years earlier on January 13, 1956. This is when he received his first letter from Carlos Miguel Allende which dealt with Einstein’s unified field theory and the experiments on board a U.S. destroyer which had vanished without a trace in a harbor in Philadelphia. And some people actually believe that the movie titled The Philadelphia Experiment was just a fictitious story to amuse the masses. Be that as it may, Jessup firmly believed in UFOs and he devoted his life to proving their existence. He wrote several books on the subject; the most famous was The Case for the UFO.

Sunday April 19th 2009 – 7:14pm Dave replied to my question in the 6:08pm posting; he writes - "Atu II The High Priestess, but its not helping. I am feeling dense.. tonight. so going to bed :)."

6:08pm Dave Solinas from Florida adds in his thoughts about 'Dewdrops' writing: - "Jerry, 93 For me the immediate images of physical/magical functions of the sexual union  jumped to mind perhaps mostly by the suggestive title. However upon a second reading the Myth or Er was what seemed to come to mind most. That birth from ecstasy and union was death of the souls free roaming in the higher planes bound by the union to a body. Conversely death was the severance of that link to the body and thus the soul was reborn individual again back whence it came. Thus death leads to a life to come.. another life. Qoph is a link from the higher to the lower .. one of my favorite cards. it inspired me to attempt to draw on it myself. In my version the Yods were the wings of a Raven. Until now that didn't make sense to me however I think that perhaps it was the Raven of the dead and madness (Stark Raving mad etc) however I digress. However I also realized that we are dual below the abyss and that perhaps it was hinting a the death of self (Ego?) is required to make the crossing of the Abyss and thus to attain that immortal self aligned with your true will. I'm still formulating ... let me see if I can back any of this up more clearly. These dewdrops are the condensation of that essence and it must fall.. 93 93/93 David." ............ Reply: You are all taxing my little brain   :)  ... Here is another hint: besides The Moon card, what card rules the Moon?

5:20pm Thank you Kath for pointing out, hopefully tongue in cheek, that "Dew is just liquid in the form of droplets that appears on exposed objects relative to the temperature of the surface item" and that "Chapter 69 explains the methods" of "collecting the Dew in our mouths" ... Sometimes I'm just speechless. And as for the rest of your email ....... :)-  0:

5:00pm Ricky replied to my comment to his 3:00pm posting - "93 Jerry, Your right. My interpretation was off-the-cuff and I did not consider the commentary. Now considering it, I don't quite get the higher meaning but I do have some questions. The moon is supposed to be shedding drops of impure blood, nine of them. These are in the shape of Yods. This brings to mind the traditional method of producing a Homunculus but that doesn't quite seem in the right place. The Path of Qoph  is said to be the threshold of Life and Death. Love = Netzach which Qoph connects to Malkuth = the matter of all superior forms. Form = Death but it is Life to come for it is also the gateway of resurrection. Of course I could be making this way more difficult than it should be. As for the rest, I haven't the slightest as of yet. 93 93/93 Ricky." ........ Reply: Of course I cannot talk about the Homunculus here, its a totally unrelated topic to dewdrops but in some cases, you're getting warmer ... anyway, you were closer when considering 'Dewdrops' from a lowly Malkuth sexual point of view.

3:25pm One of my favorite Scorpios, Jay, sent an email under the subject "you've got to Lie to me baby, I have no use for the truth " ... He writes: "93 Jerry, How I love the Book of Lies. Of course on the surface Uncle Al is talking about the semen and the spreading of a genetic line in the Malkuthian sense. On the profound level, it seems to me that he's talking about the True Will and the astral impressions that one makes. "In the silence of a dewdrop is every tendency of his/ soul, and of his mind, and of his body"; that is, that everything you ever think or do leaves a permanent impression in the astral tides. The last lines, "Let this go free, even as It will; thou art not its/ master, but the vehicle of It" reminds me of The Gun-Barrel's "I am not I; I am but an hallow tube to bring down Fire from Heaven." Both emphasise a sort of passive reception. The line "it is more He than all that he calls He" leads me to believe that this It is the True Will. The True Will is the spirit, all that leaveas an impression in the astral. In sex magickal terms, where I feel least at liberty to banter accurately, he's perhaps discussing the birthing of a child off of this plane. Thus the Silence of a dewdrop. Something like that... Love, Jay 93 93/93." ......... Reply: Like Ricky's posting, Jay sees the 'obvious' ... but herein is the Lie!  Remember, if The Book of Lies, or Liber 333 is for, and I quote, "Babes in the Abyss" ... wherein is the Truth if everything uttered below the Abyss automatically becomes bathed in duality?  The 'Obvious' is merely a Kundry to keep you from the Higher Interpretation!

3:00pm Ricky writes - "93 Jerry, I'll take a stab at this one. Dewdrops,  The title implies a droplet of liquid, it brings to mind the phrase "Dropping of the Host of Heaven" or 'semen' on the physical plane. Verily, love is death, and death is life to come. Love is union of two things. Death ensues for the individuality in this, as the two are consumed into something higher. Also, the extended Lingam 'dies' as it were, when it gives its 'seed' and this could be what is meant by 'death is life to come' in the text. Man returneth not again; the stream floweth not uphill; the old life is no more; there is a new life that is not his. This I take to mean that this act of love is an act of Creation. of a new 'point of view' or universe. Seeing that every man and woman is a Star, is key to this. We each of us view entirely different universes from our respective points of view. Creating a new point-of-view is the creation of a new universe. The formulation of a child Yet that life is of his very essence; it is more He than all that he calls He. Thou who art I beyond All! The essence of the Life of the Sun! For the Father and the Son the Holy Spirit is the norm! Need I say more? In the silence of a dewdrop --- father before him. It is eternal, once again this explains "Quia Patris et Filii, Spiritus Sanctus est norma" This is the Dew of Immortality. More plainly explained here. Let this go free, even as It will; thou art not its master, but the vehicle of It. An instruction on the Magical method Love under Will. 93 93/93 Ricky." ........ Reply: An interesting interpretation and one which I often received by people who are reading this Chapter from 'Below' the Abyss; its a good start but it is way off due to the point-of-view. The obvious has escaped you. Here is a clue: Aleister Crowley writes that the 18th Chapter refers to the 18th path of the Tarot or The Moon (Qoph), which he points out "was supposed to shed dew" adding "The appropriateness of the chapter title is obvious."

10:25am I have posted Crowley's DEWDROPS. This week's public discourse will 'hopefully' be about this chapter; it's sexual intent and usage. As an example: we know that Chapter 69 in The Book of Lies dealt with the Double Gift of Tongues both on the most lowly oral sex level of sucking seed and sucking eggs [i.e. 69] while containing Divine Mysteries of a Higher Nature; but what do you think DEWDROPS means? Come on readers, think! And let me know your views. I'll post its secrets later in the week; as long as we can at least inspire some thoughts before hand.

DEWDROPS

Verily, love is death, and death is life to come.
Man returneth not again; the stream floweth not
uphill; the old life is no more; there is a new life
     that is not his.
Yet that life is of his very essence; it is more He
than all that he calls He.
In the silence of a dewdrop is every tendency of his
soul, and of his mind, and of his body; it is the
Quintessence and the Elixir of his being.  Therein
are the forces that made him and his father and his
     father's father before him.
This is the Dew of Immortality.
Let this go free, even as It will; thou art not its
master, but the vehicle of It.

7:25am Luna writes about here latest astral working : "93! new artwork.....working with Bowles Hall...the fraternity in Berkeley since 1929....taking 80 years of boys  energy and using it.  D 29 or Delilah 29 is not the female energy itself, but she is aquarian and processes the water energy....putting all of the boys succubus energy into a tower/athanor...processing it and raining it back down for us to use. ... work/working in progress....very complicated and very active new portal/current...connecting the Mauve 11 to the great desert of Iran by a mauve/lilac thread that goes from the Hayward Fault Line...that Bowles Hall sits on.....to the Great Desert of Iran/Iraq where Al UZZA LAT lives...connecting all the LUST energy ancient and current...into a Mauve Lust Lady Channel that is user friendly for Free Agent Pests!..it also works Crowleys changes with the Emperor card and The Star card...where the 4th is aquarius and the 17th is ares...and also it works the PISCES current (29) where The Moon card slows down...allowing the crab (in the moon card) to get more "germinated" before it starts the climb upward....swampy and very fertile. attached is the first drawing working the new current. I had not been able to draw for a long time...but began drawing on the 13th, after the BOTL party. enjoy. 93s )O(." ...... Reply: The drawing that she attached was Wow! Some of her best yet! Luna then added in a second email about the BOTL party -"the female energy at the party was amazing....actually, what impressed me the most was that each woman was working a different path....(at least in my eyes)...Casey was completely what she was, my kundry Suzanne was completely in her "mood"...and on and on...it was very interesting to watch the various paths of the woman manifest so "purely' in each person (rather than see on woman go through a spectrum of mood changes in one hour)......and I saw it as very healthy....very interesting....and feel that a lot of my past work with the 93 Current was not in vain...that I was hovering for the last three years to see something new coming to fruition. ... I am very lucky to have found you all, and as of the last 4 days feel extremely focused...and see my new art as having been put on a terrific new FIERCE trajectory. ...I feel calm, happy and feel a new sense of purpose when I wake up....(a purpose with absolutely NO direction.....eye of the hurricane...calm)  ..... This too, shall pass (perceiving it as a "group" of people")...what I saw and how I perceived it...and I see good things in the future...for my art and many many others connected to Grady....the time is coming for a new cultural explosion of individual creativity.

I replied regarding her latest drawings - 93 Wow, no WOW!! No, WOW WOW WOW!!!! You're latest creative spirit and drawings are fantastic. As much as you like to talk about all the female energy, you forget one very important person - YOURSELF! Your spirit blows us away all the time! Love you and Leigh more than you'll every fully know .... :)  Dream sweat, dream in color and dream often ... 93 93/93 Humbly Jerry

7:15am Also important to note is what Luna sent - "It has just been verified that this year's Chris and Deirde May Pole party will be SATURDAY MAY 2. At 1:00 pm. As always, AT: CORDONICES PARK, Euclid Ave. in Berkeley, directly across from the Berkeley Rose Gardens (ie., on the east side of Euclid). All are welcome. Food and drink are appreciated." ... Mark it on your calendar, don't forget!  It should be fun!!!

7:12am People are slowly surfacing after last Sunday's Book of the Law feast aand checking in; Luna wrote last night - "We had a fantastic time.  The webbing of all of the different totems, spirits, and energy was fabulous.  There were three distinct times, when I looked across the energy of the room and the balcony...and felt all of the Pacific Coast magick come alive....from Big Foot, Whales, Wolf Totems, Toltemic, Aztec, Kuksu, Chumash, Gold Rush, Monterey Bay (down to the depth uncharted), Baja CA, Yosemite, Satanism, Agape Lodge, Science Fiction, Mazeteco, Peru, Feri and the 18th Century early American women's magick...and on and on...down the coast of the Pax Sea...coming alive....Made me feel really good.....so much so that I have just been smiling and grinning over the last week....waiting to see what will manifest on my blank paper soon. Love to you All." .... and later adding "We had a great time, and Leigh's brain has been indelibly tattooed and pierced by Miss Casey's fascination with me being her "next ex-lover.  What a silly she is! Seriously, we had a fantastic time!"

7:05am For the history buffs: Leopold Engel, the itinerant actor who practiced hypnotism and alleged naturopathic healing on the side, was born on this date in 1858. It is believed that he, Theodore Reuss and Franz Hartmann, were co-founders of the Theosophical Society in Germany. …....… And it was on April 19, 1897 that a Texas newspaper reported that a strange airship crashed in this state and that its strange inhabitants, who were definitely not human, were given a Christian burial in the local cemetery. …....… and on April 19, 1900 the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in London ‘officially expelled’ McGregor Mathers as its Chief of the Second Order. …....… And I should like to report that Anton LaVey describes her as “lewd, lascivious virago who was happiest when rolling on the floor with masochistic orgiastic energy.  She liked to be humiliated, liked to be degraded. There was nothing forbidden in bed, and she reveled in her lust.”  He was referring to Jayne Mansfield, who real name was Vera Jane Palmer. She was born on this date in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1933.

7:03am Aleister Crowley recorded a brief conversation in his private diary on April 19, 1939 of a profound piece of wisdom in which a woman named Peggy questions his attitude toward woman.

She asked, “You think we’re fools and crude primitive
animals! What are we then?”

To which Crowley replied, “Mind-Readers.”

Saturday April 18th 2009 – 9:10am For the history buffs: On this date in 1955 Albert Einstein died quietly in his sleep at Princeton Hospital in New Jersey, after a long and brilliant career in which his name became synonymous with genius. Like Aleister Crowley, Einstein acknowledged the importance of combining scientific and religious methods. Where Crowley wrote the profound statement: “The method of Science, the Aim of Religion,” Einstein, years later in 1934, offered this observation: “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”
