For years I have tried to understand how a person whom Aleister Crowley once admired could fall out of his favor and into disgrace; being held in contemptibility by the Beast for the rest of his life. But age has shown me examples of the types of magickal madness rooted in a flawed character which infuriated Crowley, and like him, it pains me to see friends or acquaintances not see their own folly and then fall by the wayside. What I'm getting at is this; we extended a courteous invite to Robert Flores, aka Frater Orpheus, to our Book of the Law Feast this April 2010. After all, we still considered him a friend despite his quitting the A.'.A.'. last year. However, instead of simply writing a 'no thank you' note and taking a higher more spiritual road, Mr. Flores wrote a lengthy vile and contemptuous attack on my character yesterday as to why he cannot come to our Feast, most of which is unworthy of repeating ... but part of his email must be addressed. The section in question being:
"Yes jerry I will continue to accept students and initiate them in to the New Aeon where they may receive the Light of their own Star rather then follow guidance from ‘outside‘ or another. Yes bringing individuals into our August Order of the A.’.A.’. remains my life’s work and so I will teach and share my ideas with those like minded individuals and you can either continue to bash me or whatever you choose; I could care less nor does it sway me from my self chosen and initiated path. Should however you decide to acknowledge our work and are ready for a relationship which includes mutual respect, you know where we are… if no then no surprise but you might as well get used to the idea that there is now another Tree of the Grady McMurtry Lineage open and active regardless of your myopic opinions of us as Stars… And This Branch of the A.’.A.’. cares little about the mundane affairs of others."Ah, EGO is a terrible thing to waste ... but for the record, it has been Mr. Flores who has been bashing us relentlessly behind the scenes as if trying to prove why he is not a failure and why its all my fault that he failed. It was Arthur Edward Waite in Crowley's time who spent more time and energy bashing magick and others rather that proving his own spiritual worth which prompted Crowley to write - "Ah! Mr. Waite, the World of Magic is a mirror, wherein who sees muck is muck." ... Mr. Flores should take heed of that lesson and think before he writes. Until now, we have always taken the upper road and have not replied, commented upon, nor posted any of Mr.Floes' more viler tirades on our blog. But after receiving his most recent email, which is devoid of any spiritual character, I decided, enough is enough. Anyone who hears from Mr. Robert Flores that he can bring you into A.'.A.'. as a student is to be reminded that he withdrew voluntarily from the Order in writing in 2009, per the policy which was established by Aleister Crowley; therefore severing his ties and no longer being a member of A.'.A.'., or of any branch thereof etc & etc. That should have been the end of subject. ... But now it seems that six months after quitting he has change his mind and he is trying to rewrite the facts about his status in a group in which he no longer belongs, nor of which he has any connections to. Furthermore, for him to call himself A.'.A.'. he forgets that he's informing the world that his supposed 'independent branch' has now made a connection with the Inner School residing above the Abyss. Has he? Yes, he forgets that if you reside below the Abyss, with no teacher residing above, at best you can only claim being part of a Rosicrucian School or a Golden Dawn School depending upon the degree which you hold and despite what he claims, he was a Practicus 3=8, no higher when he quit ... and on that note:BUYER BEWARE, ROBERT FLORES IS NOT, NOR DOES HE, REPRESENT THE A.'.A.'.
HE QUIT
AS FOR BEING A BRANCH OFF GRADY McMURTRY'S TREE,
AGAIN, YOU CANNOT BE PART OF SOMETHING FROM

If he doesn't like that attitude, to quote Mr. Flores to himself - "you might as well get used to the idea."
Finally, Mr. Flores, if you are so bent on assisting humanity forward then create your own Fraternity from the ground up and stop riding A.'.A.'.'s coat tail and most important, stop bashing us behind the scenes on one hand while implying that you're doing it
for spiritual reasons on the other.
The A.'.A.'. will have more respect for you
if you started acting responsibly.

Monday April 12th 2010 – 7:55am A few people want to know how it is possible for a person to 'leave' or be 'thrown' out of A.'.A.'..
(a. A person can be expelled from the Golden Dawn or man of Earth grade. This is the lowest school which functions 'horizontally' (Malkuth and Yesod) on this plane and being asked to leave simply implies that we feel the person is not A.'.A.'. material nor capable of understanding how to function vertically on the Tree of Life.
Once a person enters the Lover grade or Rosicrucian area (Hod thru Chesed) the Laws change as follows:
(b. Magickally, you can be 'thrown' out of the Tree. The Gods within the Hermetic Triad above the Abyss can do this, not any mortal from below. To be labeled 'fallen' is often due to magickal insanity (Chaos) or if a person by 'Their Words and Deeds' becomes part of the Black Brotherhood wherein SELF, often with Ego up their ass, believes that they are more important than everyone else; especially those above themselves in the Order; like their Superiors. This is the exact opposite of A.'.A.'. whose goal it is to place humanity above Self in order to guide it forward. Here we find the adage that a fruit that has fallen off a Tree will not reattach itself. [Ed. - "By their words and deeds you'll know them"]
(c. If a Lover is obviously having issues with a particular A.'.A.'. branch on the Tree of Life on a more mundane or personal level but is still capable of assisting humanity in a spiritual capacity and their A.'.A.'. branch believes that staying amongst them would only hinder this person and themselves, then they can be 'expelled' ... this means that the person is now an independent branch growing off the main branch, which frees them up to go off and 'Do what thou wilt' ... success being their proof. This must be done in writing by the main branch.
(d. Finally, an individual has the undisputed right to 'Withdraw' from the Order at any time as Aleister Crowley clearly states. The individual must make the decision, not the A.'.A.'. but it must be done in writing to 'Earth Out' the current. Withdrawing does not mean that you withdraw only from a particular lineage or teacher and that you are still in the Order; it means that you severe all ties from this point on with the Order. ... once you've withdrawn in writing you are admitting to the Gods that you don't want to be part of A.'.A.'.; this being a similar affirmation made to the Universe which you did by 'signing' the initial Oath to join. ... and like the advice given by any good Lawyer - "Don't put anything in writing and by all means, sign nothing!" It's magickally binding.
As for Robert Flores, if you go back a re-read all my correspondence with him I clearly informed him time and time again that I would never expel him (c.) because I knew, with his ever growing Ego rooted in Chaos, that he'd spin off and still have the right to claim to be A.'.A.'. and thus infecting others with his dis-ease. I very carefully kept saying to him - "If you want out, quit and put it in writing" (d). Which he did. This is why he is no longer in A.'.A.'. and for him to claim otherwise means we can call him publicly a 'fraud.' -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10:40am Anonymous read my 9:45am posting and asks - "What is Robert's problem" [and the rest I'll not post] ... AO583's reply: "Obviously, after six months, his continued anger portrays unresolved issues of which he cannot let go ... and for the rest of his life his ‘hurt’ will be an unconscious lead weight or pimple on the ass of his Adam Kadom every time he hears my name. It's an itch he cannot scratch. You'd think, the last thing that he'd want to do is to claim to be part of Grady's lineage because it'll constantly remind him of me and it will force his anger to resurface as it is presently doing. But on the one hand in his previous emails over the years he clearly admits that his greatest experience and magickal foundation of his life is what he learned from us, me directly ... but on the other hand, the first time 'dad said no' to the little boy's magickal accomplishments, he cried, stamped his feet, took his toys and went home. Ah, the dilemma! Robert now wants to keep riding the coattail as to where he got his initial knowledge but he doesn't want to accept any responsibility for ever being wrong when the same teachings informed him that his EGO was out of control. The solution; basic psychology 101. 'Do what you want' and trash the messenger (i.e. me) rather than facing the phantoms that you've created".

11:00am Anonymous read my email reply and fired back - "I agree. Thanks for a copy of Flores' email. I see he's actually claiming 4=7. Isn't this the degree in Netzach or Venus where he supposedly learns Bhakti Yoga? He sort of failed at that no? Nothing like trashing your teacher to gain you a bundle of Bhakti-Karma! Kill the feminine within and then trash your teacher in the outer! There is no hope for this guy."
